Well the bow is still sitting high this morning, so at least I can conclude that I'm not sinking.

I see our nose is up like Thunderbird 2 on its launching pad. Emptying the water tank to check it and clean sediment off floor. Hardly any sediment. Rylard's potable bitumen for water tanks paint has lasted well - painted it meself Aug 2015. 850 litres it holds. Water pump is so hot at full run we can fry sausages on it!

Bit of a long shot, but might an impact driver with an allen key bit, good clout with a hammer stand a chance of starting it off? Bloody things are next to useless or maybe it's the operator. Mine is peening over from whacking but I don't remember it ever working. One method never failed me - build up a high power blob of weld and undo with molegrips. The heat will have loosened it. Mig is best for that it's easy to aim.

One patch in water tank where bitumen has come away - dried with kitchen towel then hair dryer, and splodged over with red oxide. That dries quickly. 2 hours? Off to Wetherspoons with 'rusty' knees - can't wash as there's no water in the tank!

Painted round the v-drains. Looking good. Reaper Man by Terry Pratcher was here waiting for me, from Ebay as I recall - lollygagger's recommendation (the author, not this particular book as a starter). Pea soup being heated and time to start packing. A heron came right beside me as I was painting, about 4m away, and I saw him catch a fish and swallow it. Wriggling fish inside your tummy! A very still August evening, very quiet.

Terry Pratchett Disc World books are superb.
I am a particular fan of the Watch books, perhaps my favourite being Night Watch.
Vimes is my hero.

So funny. Love them.
I'm reading Raymond Feist 'Magician' at the moment. First of a trilogy my brother in law set me on with.
Utter rubbish, but I'm enjoying it.

Rog I have read the trilogy ...... damned if I can remember the titles ..... they left such a lasting impression on me I think I probably side more to hard SF with authors from the past such as Hal Clement, Theodore Sturgeon and Clifford Simak possibly the most modern of my favourites would be Larry Niven
