Been out to Saffron Gold in Warwick. Excellent meal and service. Recommend it if you're after an Indian meal in the town. Oh and managed the odd drink or two Rog

I haven't made an attempt yet. Once I had assured myself that there was no canal water getting in the job became less urgent, and got added to the large list of jobs that will need doing at some point soon, if I ever get any free time. I would go the slot cutting, heat, hammer, man-chisel route. If that fails weld a nut on it, deploy the best quality, correctly sized ring spanner you can beg borrow or steal (no 'approximate equivalent' size conversions please). If that doesn't work apply heat and repeat. If that doesn't work reach for the short steel scaffold bar that any right minded chap mindful of the inevitability of the impending Zombie Apocalypse and resultant societal end days quite naturally keeps within easy reach and repeat previous stages. If that doesn't work your tools are either not hot enough or long enough, or both and you should seek professional help. Don't discard the scaffold pole though. Zombies are weak and practically defenceless against a well wielded puttock. The general advice as I understand it is to avoid contact at all costs. If that fails keep the undead at range, strike and move, clear a path and don't get swarmed.
