Technology ...I so hate technology that I cannot fathom out... Just had wireless burglar alarm fitted cos I have real problems returning to the cottage..Im fearful some one will have broken in...stems from the time had attempted break in on boat.....now my home phone won't ring..i can ring out and when i dial number get ring tone but all silent...They had real issues getting it all to work due to house not co-operating/poor telephone/internet etc signal and I guess in order to get summit summit else had to go...

Woke at 4am to someone on the roof.
Just kids I guess (4am?) nicking Jane's solar lights out of her plant pots.
Up just in time to see the colour changing lights disappearing down the towpath.
Only a pound each so not worth worrying about really.
Peace of mind is a valuable item that is easily damaged.

Still..... let's hope they have an 'unfortunate accident'. Like tripping over their shoelaces and ending up face in dog poo.

Gas rather than electrical. It's been mega useful while the weather has been so good, it gets so hot in the boat while cooking. You can BBQ with it, oven cook with it or use it as a single hob. Packs away neatly too.

With regards the gazza bottle, we have used 1 x 4.5kg Calor and about half the 2.7kg 907 bottle.
A 4.5kg refill is expensive enough at Β£17, the 907 is around the Β£30 mark.
I have a ful 15kg butane cylinder that came for free, an accurate set of scales and a fiendish arrangement of cylinder connectors and hoses.
I don't mind paying riverside away form home as carrying all that clobber to save a few quid is a non starter. Seeing as we are home tomorrow I haven't got to worry so much about replacing the empty ASAP

About the same as Rog and Stabby. Low wattage kettle and toaster for use when the Genny is in action. An unopened travel iron that Mrs Gazza flatly refuses to use. I have a Garmin eTrex with a lot fewer waypoints than it once had The iron has been opened. I had to drive the damn thing myself too - Mrs Gazza still flatly refuses to use it

That's a seriously impressive ironing board too.

That's a seriously impressive ironing board too. Rog Bit of MDF, two desmo leg bases that match the table and a wilko ironing board cover That way we carry two legs for both table and ironing board.

Yes, that's very true. The problem in our house is we both hate doing it! My nan used to love ironing, she reckoned turning a crumpled pile of Laundry into a pile of crisp crease free clothes was very therapeutic - I still can't see that and she's been dead 8 years so I can't ask her why. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday, we went out for a nice meal at the Tap and Kitchen in Oundle, I thought I had best make an effort and get rid of the crumpled crisp packet look
