I'm not going to comment ...much...on your opinion of how easy/painfree childbirth is....... u know the screaming women that shriek the place down as red hot poker pain twists your guts.....that was me...... Brave? Stoic? Shelling peas from a pod?...absolute bollocks..... Also had renal colic, pleurisy, pneumonia, oesaphagitis, gastritis.all pretty awful... The emotional pain is a different thing entirely and its tough to accept how painful that can be...its not something I want to relive ever again. Actually it'd be very nice now if calm seas and plain sailing would like to figure in my future. Gout is nasty..hope you recover soon. I can only comment about what I've seen. I never intended to offend others.

Mu ultimate pain was when I shattered my legs & snapped my Achilles' tendon in a racing accident in 2002 resulting in pinning and plating. When I came round from the op the pain was growing more and more to where I was screaming and begging for them to chop off my leg. I had a self medicating morphine? pump thing that was having zero effect even tho I was pressing it non stop, the nurse came over to investigate only to find the pipe was bent shut resulting in nothing getting thro! I slept soundly once that was fixed! 😉 Looks a bit of a Heath Robinson job but it's been fine for 15 years now👍

Had dogs for thirty years. Only been without for eight (due to circumstances) hence the dogless tag.

I never intended to offend others. I know you didn't I just wanted to balance out the views....some women have it easy some don't...my sis told me there was nuffin in this childbirth malarky...I had very rough time, partly due to hospitals failure to provide pain relief at the right time ..so did daughter, we could have lost her and child so it's not always simple...People have different thresholds where pain is concerned..I used to see that at work, for some they'd refuse no matter how bad..others demanded everything and then wanted more and more until terrible situations arose whereby to give more would be dangerous yet convincing these people there was nothing else led to aggression and litigation issues.

The first shit after the proper pile op. Anyone else care to confirm that this is the worse pain imaginable? 😭

Is that where the term "a pain in the arse" comes from?

Is that where the term "a pain in the arse" comes from? No...that's from when you go for an 'after op' checkup and when you ask where to put your trousers after the doc tells you to strip and bend over he replies from behind the curtain " over there on top of mine'😱😱

Torn ligament in my back, as it healed it always wants to tear in the same place as it's scar tissue. The pain is so severe that everything goes black for a while , guess that's me passing out. Phil

When people talk about labour pain, I immediately think of Gordon Brown.
