At least 58 people were killed and 515 were injured in Las Vegas Sunday night when a gunman opened fire on a music festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. It was the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history. The "nonstop gunfire," according to one witness, sent more than 22,000 country music fans scrambling for their lives. One official familiar with the investigation said 19 weapons were recovered at the scene when the lone suspect was found dead in a Mandalay Bay hotel room. Two sources familiar with the investigation said the shooter had a combination rifles and handguns.More.. abcnews.go.com/US/58-dead-515-injured-las-vegas-shooting-suspect/story?id=50223240

There is always a price to pay.
America was founded on the right to bear arms.
They will always be vulnerable to such atrocities I fear.

Yes but the original idea was that people woild be allowed to walk about with short sleeved shirts on because of the hot weather. Then a spelling error crept in and all hell brakes loose !

Rog Agreed, whilst I feel sorry for the families of all those killed and those injured i find it hard to feel anything other than as a country they get the outcome they deserve. The NRA have a lot to answer for and Trump is not the person who is going to take them on. It must be bloody infuriating for all those opposed to the 'right to bear' nonsense. So these atrocities will repeat ad nauseum.

If you get caught with a wrap of marijuana then you are in serious trouble but it's fine to own a gun. Americans really are as thick as shit.

I fear the weight of American history absolves Trump of any blame.
It would take an impossible volte-face for the country to recreate itself.
Horribly sad as that is.

Rog Trump isn't to blame, of course he isn't, he was however elected on a ticket of total and unequivocal support of the NRA and therefore mandated those who support the right to bear arms. If the president can't show even a smidgen of the right leadership then how can we expect anything else? Prayers on the lawn of the White House mean nothing to lots of his fellow countrymen other than a cynical attempt at gaining votes.

I've been to the US once for two weeks in 1987 when I was 13. An aunt lived in Santa Fe. While I was staying with her with my mum the neighbour shot his wife dead.
I was a bit shocked but apparently it was quite normal.
Not ideal really.
