It's a chuffing bit of fun! Get a grip. I voted for gazza's sunset, but could easily have picked any of the others. I suspect that winning the competition, or more significantly not winning it, is unlikely to change the individuals life. Supposed to be a 'bit of fun'. Rog No No No it is very important !!! I can't tell you how much my life has changed since I was granted the prestigious title that appears above my avatar !!! It is absolutely vital, that as my title is altered to "Emeritus" that the recipient of that glorious mantle is worthy

So that's how you managed to move Sabina H? The huge confidence boost given by winning the photo competition enabled you to be psychologically prepared for the Big Journey.
Without it Sabina H would still be stuck on the mud inside a wooden jetty in Essex.
What's next then?
Boater Of The Millennium award?

Is this code? Way over my head, sorry. Rog It means I don't understand your post - or to expand, I don't see anybody writing anything that indicates people aren't treating the competition as just a bit of fun.

JohnV is taking it enormously seriously.
Sadly for him his "Buoy and bow" photo will not be good enough and he'll be doomed to stay in Yorkshire all winter surrounded by rusting old motorbarges.

You mean the scary geyser on back of narrow boat inside the tiller movement arc with the Crocodile dundee knife ?
I still have occasional nightmares about that photo. It was the eyes. Scared me shitless.

I genuinely think any of the photos would make worthy winners.
No disrespect intended to any, but I consider the range of subjects and quality are hugely improved on last years offerings.
There isn't one I don't like.
Rog
PS Stabby's did make us laugh, but I guess that the competition is supposed to about the quality of the shot.
