If we weren't meant to eat animals, then they wouldn't taste so nice Fixed that for you

I really am not having a pop, but am curious about veggie products pretending to be meat. It seems an obvious contradiction. Similar to someone giving up smoking, but vaping instead. I'm not a massive meat eater, simply because I'm not a huge fan, so often choose veggie options when dining out. The market for these veggie versions of meat products would suggest there isn't enough range in vegetarian dining. Rog It is better than it was getting on for 20 years ago, when Mrs Gazza and I first started seeing each other. Her options for a meal out where usually Veggie Burger (non discript) Veggie Lasagna (wide range from dreadful to delicious) Mushroom Risotto (again, ranging from inedible or superb) or Nut Cutlet straight from the freezer. There seems to be a much better range available these days.

M and S have just introduced a new veggie range..know thats a bit posh but as I don't do the cooking from basics(or any cooking if i can help it) I have chucked some of these in the freezer...thats for when I can be bothered to turn oven on.. I rarely eat meat..dont like texture/taste..sometimes eat fish when the tin opener works. I'm a bit lazy now where food preparation is concerned which is odd really as i used to spend hours and hours creating sugar craft trees and flowers and models with cake making and always made all the christmas puddings/cakes etc. I was pretty good at cooking when married so maybe I sloughed it off like a snake skin when life went pear shaped.

If we weren't meant to eat animals, then they wouldn't taste so nice Fixed that for you I agree with that. we went for a steak the other night. I had a fillet and it was the best steak I have ever had. cooked to perfection. just to have that one meal again would prevent me from being a veggie. my 10 year old had swordfish. he says the lot.

I remember meeting an old git living on a nackered old Johnson and Jago motorboat in 1994. He was a nice bloke. Very depressed.
He told me he was vegetarian then said "if it has a face then I won't eat it". Seemed sound to me.

What relevance does it have? People can buy news papers if they want to. Personally I have never bought a news paper (apart from once when a geyser on a shiny boat at Braunston asked me to pick up a copy of the Mail when I went shopping. (I am still undergoing counselling because of the shame it caused me).
The pay level of a newspaper editor is totally irrelevant. Possibly relevant to other people looking for that sort of job but just irrelevant to 99.999% of the population.

What relevance does it have? Foxy has probably found out via Google / Horseshitstories.com that she's probably a vegetarian! Probablyπ

I merely thought bills might to be slightly ashamed of The Guardian handing out the begging bowl. Bills? Nobody with that user name has contributed to this thread. I think you meant bargemast.

I don't think posts in threads necessarily have to have relevance to the subject matter...if they do I think we've all maybe gone astray from time to time...

I reckon tbere is threads that possibly have no connection to the thread total at all. it makes this place different to nearly every other forum. a more pub like conversation.

Yeah we seem to be a mix of pub locals in here, its mostly got a pretty good atmosphere.

Both my children had meat and dairy to age 5. They still have dairy products.
I think vegan is probably dangerous for infants but vegetarian seems a good compromise. Cheese etc.
