All that about me is completely irrelevant,, I've never received benefits, complained about not getting enough 'free wages' or spend a single day out of gainful employment and doubt I ever will be whilst I choose to work! You? Me. I'm just some random nutter who wants to live on a boat. Me - I'm just some random nutter who has been living on a boat for too many years.......

Cheer up. Sometimes things do change... I think I'm almost ready to agree my house sale (for far more than I expected to get a few months back) - 30th viewing booked in for this week (one of five this week), not bad considering house went on the market late November. Maybe the boat hunting can finally start.

Left a cosy boat with a raging fire this morning to drive home whilst the new engine is fitted. Arrived home to find that the super reliable Worcester Bosch boiler is dead. To add insult our friends at Britsh Gas cannot turn out until 8am - 1pm tomorrow. My it is chilly. Pity the poor homeless. Off out for dinner at a friends so I hope he's got the heating on tropical mode. One bright spark in the day was the arrival of my calendar. The cover photo gets the blood pumping. Rog Your friend MtB from the other channel tells me that he can't understand why Worcester Bosch boilers have such a good reputation with the likes of Which etc. He thinks they are not very reliable, and when they do go wrong they are a pain to fix. He says he never gets called out to Vaillant boilers so that is what I'll be getting soon - our Vokera was old when we bought the house in 2003 and I have lost count of the number of times I've had to fix it. Mind you, I now know its foibles very well!

One day the sun will probably shine for me again too, but time is flying so bloody fast. Peter.

He called to introduce himself to us last summer, and was telling us the same.
It wasn't exactly my choice of boiler, I am not a 'boiler spotter', I don't spend many waking hours thinking about boilers, and do not collect boiler catalogues.
The nice gas people said it was the best. It certainly cost a lot. I didn't think it would be too much to expect the damned thing to work when we need it to.
All will be well tomorrow no doubt.
I will report back.
Rog
PS Dinner was delicious

Mind you, I now know its foibles very well! And yet my brother who is also an odd ball boiler man swears by Worcester Bosch - in deepest darkest Norfolkshire he reckons they are the least troublesome boiler he deals with and is consequently what he recommends for replacement and new installs alike. We've got an Ideal ICOS that should have expired at least 2 years ago, regular rodding out of the condensate trap seems to have kept the CORGI men at bay
