Well, for some balance, we have a Worcester Bosch system boiler in one of our office blocks at work, it's 7 years old and has been totally faultless.
I'd take the word of my brother and my somewhat limited experience with the one at work over a random off the internet - I'm surprised Mike even has the time to fix anything, he's always on CWDF talking a good job.
I'd be pretty pissed off if the bloke I'd employed had his phone permanently in his hand rather than a screwdriver.

we should be counting our blessings - sadly, there truly is always someone worse off x Why waste time counting blessings when you could be helping those worse off?

Best wishes for the sale of your house, it would be great if that sold and you could start your boat hunt with cash in your pockets. We're using Bitcoins to buy boats now, Bargy, try to keep up.Honestly, I'm really trying very hard to keep up, but with people like you, that are way ahead of folks like me, it's not easy Peter.

Its not down on pressure is it? because if it is it stops working!! ak me how I know that And the most likely causes for that is a knackered Expansion Vessel, leaking PRV or a slight weep on a radiator tail. Or any combination of the above! Finger's crossed it's not too dear. Just to give Rog some solace, my 3.5 year old Zanussi washing machine is playing silly buggers. Just before Christmas it had a new £50 drain pump, no cheap pattern part available. Now it is not heating the water, heating element is fine, High temperature cut out which is part of the element not fine £50 for an element from Zanussi. I've just tried it using a hot fill from the hot water tank with the stat set @ 40° it played havoc with the digital programme timer - it ripped through a 1 hour 47 minute programme in about 35 minutes and skipped the spin cycle, looks like the Italians are gonna get some more money for their cheap jack Polish built using Chinese parts crap. Annoyingly it wasn't all that cheap when new and got a good Which review Samsung are offering a free 5 year warranty on some of their machines if you need to replace it. We got an ecobubble just before Xmas and it seems like a good machine. We were going to get a miele but they didn't seem to have enough confidence in theirs to offer an inclusive extended warranty but rather rely on their name/reputation (which is no good if the thing does actually break down out of warranty)

I'd be pretty pissed off if the bloke I'd employed had his phone permanently in his hand rather than a screwdriver. We were all set to go down the WB route when we renewed our boiler las September but our plumber put us off and went for a Ravenheat one instead. Although the internals are more substantially made using more metal than plastic they cost less than a WB one. They are not as well known but they are very popular with landlords (allegedly) because they cause less hassle for them and the response to any problems you might have is very good. They are a small company based in Leeds. It replaced a 23 year old potterton prima B which was ultra reliable only breaking down twice in those 23 years, but not only was it very uneconomical the heat exchanger was badly corroded and it was going to be very expensive to fix.

Burned out transformer, replaced. The air is now turning a healthy pink colour instead of the icy blue (from the temperature and my cursing). It amazes me how quickly my home feels hostile, with just this single malfunction. I think of it as a fairly warm, well insulated house, but now realise it only remains so whilst the heating works First world problems I know, but I'm pleased I have the home care cover, meaning repair within 24 hours and at no cost (other than the two hundred and odd quid a month I pay already ) Debate can now continue over the 'best' central heating boiler. I will add my vote for THE ONE THAT WORKS Rog

I will add my vote for THE ONE THAT WORKS Rog I wouldn't use 'hostile' to describe this place without heat...it is not well insulated...without Rayburn 24/7 its damp dreary chilly....with the Rayburn consuming lots anthracite its sorta nearly toasty warm but on real chill days I have to light woodburner as well..... im not house proud but I really don't appreciate the soot film that covers surfaces..I know my Rayburn on the ancient side.. I like warm ...spent New Year at a mates house..push button heat...what luxury... Just to add when Im old if my kids deposit me in a home Im gonna demand warm cosy existence.....
