Are you feeling better now Tony ? health wise I mean !!! Yes, fine thanks, John. Can't seem to get rid of this last bit of infection in my right foot, though. At present it's alternating from the base of my 2nd and 3rd toes to the inside of my heel, . . . a wet, sore looking patch of red, around about an inch across and very tender/painfull to touch. I was going to say it's a pain in the arse, . . but that's at the other end of my leg ! I presume u have had a medicine man look at this?...I mean recently..... I'm not gonna comment on possibilities but I would recommend if its not healing get it re checked....

I have just looked at my post numbers. Don't laugh, I have 85 on here, and 127 on CWDF. I feel so inadequate after seeing that I need 30,000 to be a superstar font of all knowledge. π Who on earth has tallied up 30,000?...jeepers thats more than Foxy....

I don't know if this member of Dr Bob's chorus line of ''can'ts'' is having some twinges of conscience, or trying to make amends for frightening that couple in Gloucester out of moving their boat to Ripon over Christmas and New Year, but he's just posted this, without commenting or adding anything, on another CWDF thread about the Trent : rusty69

If you would prefer to have a pilot aboard try someone called Tony Dunkley to see if he's available to help you. He's been boating on the Trent professionally on commercial barges and tugs, with some pleasure craft time as well, for nearly 60 years, so he's beginning to get to know the river quite well by now. You can contact him on 07553 294325 , or e-mail at > tony@canalrivertransport.com <
I have come across the rusty person before on an unrelated forum. He's an arse - everything is someone elses fault and "something should be done about it/them" to enable his continuing ignorant existence. But he got it right this time - maybe there's hope.

trouble is that nowadays you can't just extract a penny from your pocket, give it some expert attention with a ballpene hammer and ..... voila !!! ................. a rustproof core plug for early Ford engines (should add that it works for BMC's as well but I only have had to do it on the little Ford based engines) That brought back old memories. I was given a primary school prize back in 1957 or 9, called βThe Black Pennyβ by Alan Drake; the story line featured an old penny mocked by more valuable coins in a boyβs money box. On a trip to take the money box [in the shape of a ship] sailing on a river, the car over-heated and the penny saved the day. It ended up being gilded as a reward and was deferred to by grovelling mere silver coins, until the penny revealed himself β with the usual moral tale.

It's fairly obvious and reasonably well known that he is further along the autistic spectrum than most of the rest of us, but I don't think that is a reason to ridicule him.

I wasn't ridiculing anyone. I was making a straightforward observation.

It does heal up, Patty, every 3 - 4 weeks, but then it almost immediately pops up again where it had healed up from previously. It's been going on for nearly three years, and I'm bloody sick of it, but at least it's now confined to these two small areas on my right foot. A couple of years back it was affecting both feet (right one worst) and lower legs, and my right leg to above the knee. The medics were predicting that I'd lose the right one to above the knee back then, but as the NHS had ruled out prescribing a wooden leg and a parrot I kept well away from anyone wearing a white coat and carrying a saw !

Takes one to know one, Nick ! I can't speak for others, but I ridicule him because I think he's a spineless, vapouring little turd that the world would be a better place without.
