i installed the silencer a while ago, its taken awhile to get round to it but here for gazza a photo of it installed. Once again thanks alot its made a big difference to the noise. The way the framing is arranged it looks like the generator could be completely enclosed fairly easily - maybe even with some sort of service access hatch. Looks nice. Yes it would box in easy enough, but remember you've got to leave enough through put of air to cool the engine and alternator. I need to find a suitable sound absorbant material before that the next job is to wrap the exhaust.

I read somewhere that dibond makes good generator enclosures. Don't know if it's true.
It's some sort of aluminium - plastic composite material usually used to make signage with.
Might be worth looking into.
Yes there would be air requirements. I'd probably look at some sort of skin tank or keel cooling or possibly cooling the generator via central heating radiators in winter rather than the engine mounted radiator.
