You are right Quaysider, the youngsters of today are far more accepting of their gay peers than previously. My daughter (19, unnatural IVF conception, paid for by parents, no burden to NHS, choosing my care home) has numerous friends who are gay and accepts it as the norm, I however do not know of any of my former classmates who are gay but statistics alone must mean that some were. Daughter would be incandescent if she read some of the posts directed at the gay members of this forum, she gives me a hard time when I roll my eyes at the term “gender fluid” and gets really airyated when I say I am discriminated against cos I can’t join LGBT group because I’m straight!
Discrimination against vegans is fair game though. 🤣

And apparently, being on the receiving end of homophobic abuse is far less serious than being told you’re thick.

I've not seen anyone on here abuse you over your sexuality, even though you do your damnedest to attract some.

Anyway, your incessant fumbles under the duvet have obviously damaged your eyesight.

Thank god for 'social media' because without it our tabloids would have nothing to report.

slightly off topic here - I'm SO amazed and pleased these days when I'm introduced to new people - straights I mean that young lads don't bat an eye lid any more about having a beer with a bender. It's a shame it wasn't the case up in the yorkshire dales where I was brought up 30 odd yeras ago... the "lad" culture is perfectly accepting... well the NON--chav version at any rate. Long may it continue ... I DO feel sorry for the ruskies though... they have a terrible time - we should (as in uk poofs) be grateful for the liberties and acceptance we already HAVE and just get on with making the world as good a place for everyone as we can. Yes, we have made huge advantages in equality in my lifetime. Happily though, there is still one last remaining group of people who it is socially acceptable to treat with bitter and vindictive bile and venom.

Yes but we all know that people on mumsnet are even nastier than people on here. They are just jealous because they don’t have good looking loving husbands, a great sex life and loads of money.

I think he is secretly a gingerphile so if you ever meet him, be sure not to drop the soap.

Based on your performance on Thunderboat, I'd guess you're quite close. Rog I only insult people who insult me or others. In the case of the other kiddie thread it was because several people lied and, libelled and misrepresented me to the damage of my personal integrity. If you think that makes them the victim and me the aggressor then so be it. In the case of the SE boating group, people were ridiculing a harmless lady not on here to defend herself and I insulted them for it. Again, if you think etcetc. It is very easy to be polite and inoffensive whilst others are getting a hard time, but also spineless. You helped escalate those threads to a level that the original topic was not possible to discuss at the time, for you to think otherwise is foolish.

When I was about 14 at a paid-for secondary boys school one of the teachers (who was as gay as the day is long) explained to us very graphically about gay sex (male) etc in a "Religious Education" class and told us that out of 26 boys 2 would be gay. It was a bit strange and the result was that all the boys in the class tried to work out who those two would be !
I'm not really sure how accepted it was at the time but I was not aware of any of the boys coming out. Someone did suggest I had come out when I was getting lifts to motorcycle maintenance evening classes when I was 16 on the back of a GPz500 the rider of which was apparently gay. I had no idea he was gay. I just liked the motorbike and couldn't really give a monkeys about the persuasion of the other person on it.

The kiddie one, no, it was people lying and misrepresenting what I had said that clogged up the topic, which was a shame although fairly normal for this forum.

What personal integrity? I fully appreciate that you have no idea what personal integrity is, but put it like this, when for example it was said that I support paedophilia, it was the same as if I accused you of campaigning against knife crime.
