Shapfell is a very handsome boat. I hope mine looks as well at that age. I've never really understood the need to 'do down' other people's choices merely on the grounds they weren't your own. On a similar vein, I don't understand the necessity to insult anyone who disagrees with me on a given subject. However I am self righteous and sanctimonious to a level that can cause annoyance. Rog At least you have self-awareness. That is a bonus on here!

But it's not "doing anybody down" though, it's just the rough and tumble of an internet forum. We take the piss out of Kris's toilet, Martin's caravan, JohnV's Harold Shipman beard and your nefarious boat deprivation activities, so why should TellyMackus throw a hissy fit when he is included in the fun? No particular reason, just as you threw a hissy fit when I said your boat was a potato with a coffin inside. You got ooooh, ever so defensive “Don’t you know who built my boat” etc. Now that WAS funny!

Nasty. And to think I used to think you were OK. Well, I am easily misled by a pretty face I suppose. Lesson learnt. What do you expect Nick? You post endless comments about how rich you are, how clever you are, how you are always right. How well educated you are, how superior you are. You call people cunts, thickos, poor, lazy, liars, often when you have blown something totally out of proportion or tried to twist comments to make it seem something it isn't. And yet you get uppity when your behaviour is called out, flouncing about like a wounded and wronged geek who the rough school bullies are picking on. It's all a big act, thankfully on here you have nowhere to hide. As I said, it's a shame your input has plumbed new depths of shitness, you do have the capacity to post useful content, but for reasons best known to you you've decided to Keep digging this hole, perhaps you ought to give Jeff your spade? I tell you what, why don’t you stop interacting with me then. You have revealed yourself to be a nasty person and I’d be quite happy to not hear from you again.

Not so, I merely politely and dispassionately explained the reason for the boat's name and pointed out that it had had a professional fit-out using a wood traditionally associated with boat building. Didn't they teach you about wood in proper school?

How long is Humber Renown? It looks incredibly long is this picture? It's the Aire & Calder Navigation: Castleford - Ferrybridge - Knottingley: then turn right for Pollington and Goole - or left and go down the River Aire and swing left onto the Selby Canal. We liked it a lot out that way, lots of luvverly deep water! yea I really enjoyed my time on those waters. Deep water, lots of good moreings, friendly boaters and locals. What's not to like.

Nick, it's not CWDF, if you don't like what I've typed (completely factual as far as I can see) then hard lines I'm afraid. It's exactly this sort of peer moderation and review that serves to show up the inadequacy of the block or report button. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but the only one you have to look at is yourself, not me or the other Forum members you have rounded your sights on over the last few weeks. I was pleased to see your Minworth thread BTW, sadly I guess there won't be much productive dialogue on there with you.

I reckon about 120ft and pretty deep. and wide. I bet its got a pretty large propulsion unit in there and a couple of nice generators. And some decent pumping equipment.
I wonder what it was carrying ? Was it something boring like sand or something more interesting ?
Eta Humber Renown is on the canal plan boat list and is apparently 180ft long !!

My Ormelite and I have travelled several hundreds of miles on the system and she has a collection of plaques from previous owners covering the majority of the system. How long is Humber Renown? It looks incredibly long is this picture? I don't know exactly how long she is, I would guess around 200 foot. I will ask tomorrow

Sounds like you have a real life skill there.
