It always surprises me that millionaire footballers, when interviewed after a match, are coiffured, bejewelled, and generally struggle to string a coherent sentence together.
Rugby players are mud splattered, streaked in blood, but generally speak intelligently and in the correct tense.
Along similar lines, I was amazed to see Trucknet conducting itself in such a 'gentlemanly way' but then, as with the above, the participants don't need to prove their 'macho credentials' in words, it goes with the job.

KFC has closed more of its outlets in the UK after delivery problems meant it ran out of chicken. Its website shows that 646 of the fast-food chain's 900 outlets in the UK and the Republic of Ireland were shut as of 11:25 on Tuesday morning. That compares with 575 that were closed at 21:00 on Monday. Last week, the fried chicken chain switched its delivery contract to DHL, which has blamed "operational issues" for the supply disruption. It is not yet clear how many outlets will open for business later on Tuesday. What caused the problems? Until 13 February, KFC's chicken was delivered by specialist food distribution group Bidvest. But after the contract switched to DHL, many of the food giant's outlets began running out of chicken products. The GMB union said it had tried to warn KFC that switching from Bidvest to DHL was a mistake. The change led to 255 job losses and the closure of a Bidvest depot, said Mick Rix, GMB national officer. He said: "Bidvest are specialists - a food distribution firm with years of experience. DHL are scratching around for any work they can get, and undercut them. "KFC are left with hundreds of restaurants closed while DHL try and run the whole operation out of one distribution centre. Three weeks ago, KFC knew they had made a terrible mistake, but by then it was too late." www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43124259

Today is a sad day, the race to the bottom continues. Those poor chickens who are lying unloved in the distribution centre have died in vain.

I don't understand why anyone would eat food from this sort of place. I tried something from "Chicken Cottage" once when I was really hungry. It was awful. Foul. But they make millions and millions in profit by selling rubbish food.
What's going on? Will it ever end??
Eta I do occssionaly eat at wetherspoon beer and a (vegi) burger. I'm not a vegetarian but the vegi burger is actually tastier than the meat version.

When I used to manage a railway control room, the normal practice was for me to dip into my pockets and buy some bargain buckets for all who had helped out sorting the incident - it didn't matter who they worked for. (Only applied for stuff like suicides/serious incidents though). If Mike was on duty on a Sunday then it was worth popping in for his roast, if Sam was working on a Sunday it was worth popping in for his wife's curry (I could go on...). The point is it was comfort food.

Around 1985 we bought something from KFC in Welwyn Garden City. Greasy and vile. First and last time to KFC. I think they go robbing graveyards to get their meat. I don't eat KFC very often, maybe once or twice a year but the quality does seem to vary from branch to branch, and even according to the time of day. If it has been resting for 20-30 minutes after cooking then it isn't as greasy, although fried chicken is always going to be fried chicken. I went into the KFC at Knutsford services one night, just before they closed and ordered a meal. The woman said "Would you like some extra for free?" I'm not one to turn down free anything so I said "Yes please" and she scooped every bit of chicken out of the cabinet, filled up a carrier bag with it and gave it to me. It kept me going for a week. The story of Harland Sanders is fascinating. He was older than I am now when he started KFC and it must take some drive and energy to build a worldwide fast-food brand, whereas I find it a superhuman effort just to get out of bed in the morning. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonel_Sanders

I think you mean “fowl” but never mind. Anyway, in the news tonight apparently someone in Tower Hamlets phoned the police today, to complain that the local KFC was closed. This is the sort of society we are living in. So sad! (as POTUS would say).

I've lived in Tower Hamlets for 7 years (that's about 8 years too long) and I get around the area a little bit but I must say I don't know where there is a Kentucky fried chicken outlet. I know of a macdonalds but there is a lack of the other. Either that or I just don't see it.
Ah maybe its a drive in by the A12/A11 interchange...
I assume the news story is a joke and/or advertising. A bit like those silly stories when they do the black Monday sales and people punch each other just to be able to buy the heavily discounted large TV which is in fact just the old model the shop were unable to shift.
These things would not happen in the real world.
