I've lived in Tower Hamlets for 7 years (that's about 8 years too long) and I get around the area a little bit but I must say I don't know where there is a Kentucky fried chicken outlet. I know of a macdonalds but there is a lack of the other. Either that or I just don't see it. Ah maybe its a drive in by the A12/A11 interchange... Daily Telegraph is reporting this... Tower Hamlets Police responded to enquiries about the crisis, tweeting: "Please do not contact us about the #KFCCrisis - it is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire." www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/20/kfc-chicken-shortage-causes-chaos-police-tell-customers-stop/

I assume the news story is a joke and/or advertising. A bit like those silly stories when they do the black Monday sales and people punch each other just to be able to buy the heavily discounted large TV which is in fact just the old model the shop were unable to shift. These things would not happen in the real world. There’s one on the Mile End road just east of the canal (near mile end station). Maybe not quite “tower hamlets” but close.

I've walked around there in several different directions a few times this week and not noticed it. I guess I must be blind to it.
As for the news story it is quite funny and probably effective for brand recognition but there is no way that someone would phone to cops to report a closed fast food outlet. It won't happen.
Maybe the whole thing has been orchestrated by KFC deliberately as an advertising scam because they are in trouble? If they are going for the lowest bidder on logistics which is fundamental to the business then it seems likely they have some issues. Somehow it reminds me a bit of the amazon drone delivery bullshit advertising scam.
All very sad really.

Kentucky fried chicken is my achilles heel. It's a fix I need once in a while. Burger king is another, along with a decent kebab shop. Just realised I'm a junk food fan. Mc D is just shite.

I was a KFC virgin up to recently when I was abandoned at Rugby by Jane.
I was on my way to meet her at the station, a little early, and decided it would be cheaper to eat in the retail park than at the station.
It was pouring down and the nearest food establishments were Subway, and KFC.
I can't do with the lengthy interrogation at Subway so went into KFC.
I have to say the coffee was very good, although in a paper cup.
I had some sort of spicey chicken sandwich which was okay, but it appeared most of the flavour was in the mayo it drowned in.
I'll stick with a £2 bacon butty and coffee at Greggs as my poison.
