I like this bit of the story “She just left quickly in her AMG Mercedes to pick up the chicken,” he said. “It was so weird. I don’t where she went or what she did with the chicken.” ... Sold it to Chicken Cottage? Now we know how she can afford an AMG working at KFC

One has to wonder if "disposed of correctly" means "served to customers"

They could give it away it's still cheaper than landfill. Or would it go to dogfood factories or similar ?

I know it was a bit rude of the driver to just dump the stuff by the roadworks but is it really something which attracts the attention of a hired killer ?

They could give it away it's still cheaper than landfill. Or would it go to dogfood factories or similar ? It will go for animal feed, as soon as it was dumped by the roadside it became unfit for human consumption and the fact that it was apparently a delivery rejected by the local KFC a few minutes earlier suggests that it was probably already outside the acceptable temperature range on delivery, either because the refrigeration unit in the delivery vehicle was set to the wrong temperature or even that a subcontractor had delivered it in a non-refrigerated vehicle.

I think dog food has to be fit for human consumption - never looked into the matter too far though.

I think dog food has to be fit for human consumption - never looked into the matter too far though. The material of animal origin used by the pet food industry comprises those parts of animals which are either deemed surplus to human consumption or are not normally consumed by people in the UK, and derived from animals inspected and passed as fit for human consumption prior to slaughter

There is very little that cannot be consumed by humans. Just think along the lines of brawn, tripe and haggis to name but a few that have bits you would not think of eating. Even bulls cock is a dish on some menus.
