You can see where the bridge has been constantly battered by truck trailers...they don't even repair it now just leave bollards round it!!🙄🙄 Wonder where he's from?? Good Lord !!! that really is beyond the pale ..... totally awful .... how the hell can you take someone seriously who listens to Radio One !!!

Thanks for reporting it. Hehe at least I called that outcome. What is slightly annoying is all the reports keep say he pleaded guilty to the least charge. Yes he had but the plea was not accepted. So why is it accepted now? Will he get jail time or be a lucky bugger. I see the polish drive had has his licence revoked aswell. He is definatly playing hide the soap.

He did not have one because it was revoked.

I thought he was on the M1 in England, not fighting the Taliban in Iraq... PTSD ffs!
Tried to let this one go, but... You have shown up a (to me) surprising level of ignorance here.

It said on this evenings news that his license was revoked before the crash. Therefore he didn't have a license to drive.

Tried to let this one go, but... You have shown up a (to me) surprising level of ignorance here. There are many people who think PTSD is a condition that is only suffered by those who have fought in terrible conflicts.... That other people who see and deal with awful things don't have this...or somehow its not as bad for them...there is no denying that men who have witnessed horrors of war can return with minds that are shot to pieces ...I know, Ive seen some of these lads and their demons are real. But there are people in all walks of life that have dealt..or tried to deal with stuff so awful that their minds cannot cope.

Tried to let this one go, but... You have shown up a (to me) surprising level of ignorance here. I agree with you. I've never read about PTSD - but I bet you a saucepanful of gold coins that Dave Wagstaff's lawyer has told him to "pull the PTSD Card". "Most people who have experienced a traumatic event will not develop PTSD." I'm also wondering how Dave got PTSD when, at the same time, he claims he "remembers nothing" of the crash. He was a prat, and is just trying to wriggle out of it, like the Pole who now claims he "was ill". Maybe Ross but the thing is we don't know...none of us know...all anyone does is put forward opinions based on what they read and 'see'... Whatever the truth this man ...or both these men have to live with the consequences of that night..being judged by not only court but their peers and family. I wouldn't want to be in their position....I wouldn't want to be their wife/child.... People have died tragically and whatever the cause or whose fault it is will never bring them back...but in to-days world trial by press and public opinion makes those perceived guilty suffer consequences of their crimes in a very public arena. Whatever punishment the courts give is only part of it. I'm not defending nor standing up for them, I think its appalling what happened...and yes it seems they made significant mistakes...and maybe this terrible accident will reinforce the dangers on our road particularly of driving at night.... I suspect many people have near misses with momentary lapses of concentration but the thought that something like this could happen is frightening.... Where did u get that quote from?...most people....PTSD"...

According to the NHS about 1 person in 3 who have experienced a traumatic experience get PTSD. Probably far higher than what most people expect (and many experts consider it is under reported). More info here if anyone is interested www.nhs.uk/conditions/post-traumatic-stress-disorder-ptsd/

Where did u get that quote from?...most people....PTSD"... Back from work, after dishing out some Freddo Frogs.... From here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posttraumatic_stress_disorder - first line of second paragraph. It starts off by saying: "Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder" - so Dave Wagstaff is now claiming he's 'mentally disordered' ? Yes as a result of the accident rather than the cause. Big difference!

PTSD after the event is irrelevant, anyone involved in a fatal accident whether they were at fault or not is bound to be what used to be called "shaken up". So what?
As to the bloke who stopped, his base level, probably, has been a bit pissed for so long he regards it as being sober.

Yes as a result of the accident rather than the cause. Big difference! If he has PTSD, then he'll have to have his driving licence, EU "professional" driving permit, and digital-tachograph chip card taken away from him until proved fit to have them back. Somehow I doubt he will be worrying about that.

As andyberg has shown today, these Eastern Europeans are really out in force and fucking up the whole country - they couldn't give a toss about Britain or the Brits, just out to rake in some money so they can build their retirement house back where they came from. As seen driving over bridges that can't take the weight of their vehicles. Can't remember which way you came to marina but that's the bridge if you turn right out of marina, past Fettlers Marina, over railway and that's the bridge with the sharp turn onto it across the River Douglas. Artics illegally using that unsuitable route have to get right on the opposite side of the road to get sufficient swing to clear the corner of the bridge! Bloody forriners..... coming over here, taking our jobs, driving our wagons and fucking our bridges!👹
