I thought WIX was Polish. I bought one 3.5 years ago at the Banbury place and saw it said Made in Pooland on the packet, cursed, used it but then bought a Mahle (Made in Austria Heil Hitler) which is on our engine right now. We have been told to use only Bukh filters - but these say Made in Fucking Morocco on the packet. www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=199Perhaps some are, the ones I have are US manufactured (although in North Carolina, not South Carolina as I stated earlier).

Toys 'r' Us have gone the same way this morning too.
Feel sorry for those that will inevitably lose their jobs.

They must be quite seriously in the shit, even the most tuppeny-hapenny businessman knows that if there's one creditor you don't fuck about it's the VATman.

That VAT bill will likely mean any other creditors will get naff all even when assets are disposed of, ISTR the VAT man/HMRC is the first in the queue when a business goes belly up???

Probably owned at least in part by the local council. I suspect that will be common.

Is it only the uk that has gone tits up? Yep. Railways all owned by foreigners. Confectionary companies mostly all flogged off to the Americans. Arabs owning 50% of London. Marple Locks still not repaired. Cotton industry shipped to India. Power stations operated by the French. Snows a bit and schools close. Students with rings through their noses at 'University' (previously Willesden Poly) now studying Transgender Rights instead of Chemistry. I believe toys r us was a us outfit that was imported here, a bit like McDonald's. So as far as i know nothing was "flogged' off to the American's.

Thats mostly true and the same applies across the board for industries which were once strong in the UK. Post industrial revolution business consolidation. My ancestors (grand father and great grandfather) family business was a large door manufacturing company. sold out of the family due to a family rift in the early 70s and eventually incorporated into a Canadian company. The same company (premdor) took over several other UK door businesses thereby reducing the choice for consumers and making it more difficult for UK consumers to buy UK products. . I don't really understand why this country (UK) didn't do so well out of all this consolidation. we appeared to be in a strong position but I know very little about business and obviously the people in charge of these companies chose to sell. Maybe they get shit in their eyes when they see the money. Its happened in most industries in this country. Selling off the family silver. I know this is not news btw.
