Now here was a lovely gesture by a young lady from Dartmoor, who had been planning to stay at a Premier Inn in W-S-M for a young farmers gathering. Now due to the bad weather last week......feck it, read it yourself... LINKSo next time you see Lenny " Mr Comic Relief, Give Me All Your Money For Africa" Henry (Face Of Premier Inn),...tell him to fuck off !!!

So that's Premier Inn off the list of places to stay...perhaps a boycott could be organised

That's appalling if true.
Premier could have refunded the group, in light of the weather, or keeping the money accepted the guests.
To do neither is terrible.
Sod 'em.
I'll take my money elsewhere.

Not good.
Can I give a shout out for Days Inn. Especially the manager and staff at the Hamilton inn. I was on a walk from JOG to LE when I stayed there and used them for a base for a few days. The Mutt became ill and we were unable to continue, I was offered free accommodation for the next few nights (due to reasons I couldn't take them up on their generous offer). I'm sure the linked story would be different if it had happened in the majority of Days Inns.

The Premier Inn on the Halifax arm wants £10 a day for you to park your boat outside, on their side, which is opposite the towpath side.

Putting the issue in the OP to a side for a sec.
When you book a premier travel Inn you agree to the booking terns and conditions. You also get the option of being able to pay slightly more and then being able to able to cancel up until 1pm on the day of arrival. If those moaning in the reviews in Foxy's link had done that there wouldn't have been an issue.
Anything can prevent travel, that is why they allow you to do this. This could be a bereavement or a car breakdown, should they offer a refund then? The fact people want to milk it because there was 'police' advice not to travel doesn't impress me at least.

Business is business. But you can show 'compassion' whilst still running a successful business. Maybe an offer to make a donation to a homeless charity would of headed of the bad publicity? I think the Premier Inn model of business probably doesn't allow this sort of independent thinking though.

Business is business.
But it appears Premier refused to refund AND refused to permit the rooms to be occupied.
As Philip Green and his like are the unacceptable face of capitalism, I feel Premier demonstrate similar qualities.
I for one will not use them (mind you I never have.......Days Inn and Travel lodge are our usual, oh and Wetherspoons hotels)

They don't have many but they opened one in Whitby (well just outside) and it's very nice.

All the people shouting, i will never use them again, bet they do! Totally agree, of course they will, this quote typifies the thinking... "After using Premier Inn for a number of years for both business and leisure, its safe to say that I will be very reluctant to booked any future stays."As in well I will still use them if they happen to be the cheapest when I want to stay at a particular location.
