Not a cloud in the sky in Barmouth and hardly any wind. Just back from a trip out on the kayak. Zero fishes obliged.

Washing done at Revolution at the petrol station.
Not the best but does the job.
Think we'll have a walk across to Flore.
Cloudy and much cooler here ... which is nice 😊

Still no movement on the Scoopy's V5C, alas. The DVLA updates its database at midnight every day so it's usually the first thing I check when I get up, ready for another exciting day at Slam Transport. I guess it is at the earliest point in the window at which it could be done, but still I'll be glad when this page updates as I can't tax it until the V5C is issued. Could it be that as a consequence of Police enquiries into Vince ' Mr Stabby' Coventon's hole and corner 'under the radar' existence, . . including the oft repeated fantasy about working for a company called Slam Transport, . . the DVLA is now looking into, amongst other irregularities, the matter of the false address in Kent that the lying psychopathic arsewipe has been declaring as his sole residence for the last 9(+) years ?

Another cooler morning, overcast here in Derbyshire but shaping up to be a pleasant day methinks. No update with the Scoopy's V5C.

Came down Hatton flight yesterday. Good descent, shared with a lovely couple and two volunteers helped all the way. All very smooth and enjoyable. Ate at the Cape pub, food was ok, Ali had bass from the sea. I had pie, pastry but hard, lack enough venison but not bad. As ever pub meals just seem to get dearer by the week. Cape used to be great food sensibly priced. Oh well. Micron theatre guys are at the two boats tonight performing a comedy. We may go watch.

It's not conclusive but farmed fish are small so the fillets tend to be thin. Wild fish can't be landed below 42cm so their fillets are thicker. It's £19.95 here for a piece of wild bass in the pub here with whatever veg they are doing that day. I guess that's 150/200g of fillet for which they pay £15/kilo from the local dodgy suppliers.

He said it was 'bass from the sea'.
Does this make it sea bass or could it be non sea bass introduced to the salty water for some reason?

Was a decent fillet size. Said to be fresh from Cornwall. Ali is pretty particular about her fish and was quite happy with it.

"The word bass comes from Middle English bars, meaning "perch", " Oh my cod ! I never knew. Bass and perch share many characteristics. Both have sharp spiky dorsal fins and gill covers. Both are predators but will eat vegetable matter, at times. Both tend to shoal with others of their species of a similar age/ size. Both will attack prey almost as big as themselves. Bass are generally more aggressive than perch though. Bass will take a surface lure which is almost unheard of with perch.

Nice to have a sunny morning after rain yesterday evening, however forecast suggests it's going to be cloudy all day with 20mph winds.
Think we'll save cruising for tomorrow with loads of sunshine and gentle breezes.
We quite like the Weedon area 👍🏻
