On 12 Aug 2024 at 5:16pm Mr Stabby said: . . . I don't live on the mooring. I live in a house in Kent where I pay Council Tax and am on the electoral register. - and - later on 12 Aug 2024 at 8:35pm Mr Stabby also said: . . . as thick as two short planks. How I live is completely, totally legal in every aspect. Unlike some here, I fully understand the Law and do not think that different interpretations of it apply to me. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ It's evident from the above quotes and his 'selfie' photograph (reproduced below), the extent to which moronic psychopath Vince 'Shit-for-Brains' Coventon does actually 'understand' any part or any aspect of the Law, in general or in particular, . . or the likelihood of his living a life that's - quote - ". . completely, totally legal in every aspect". Warwickshire Police appear to have allowed themselves to be taken in and led up the garden path by Coventon's post (quoted above) in which he states that he lives in Kent. They say their enquiries now extend to looking into this man's record and background, covering employment, addresses, and locations, past and present, . . even boatyards and marinas. To this end, and despite the Police officers supposedly assigned to investigating the wide range of internet/on-line offences committed by him being based at Newbold Road Police Station, Rugby, CV21 2DH, . . no more than 10 to 15 minutes drive from the residential boat moorings at Colehurst Farm, CV23 0PT, near Rugby, where this moronic psychopath has lived on a (uninsured) boat that he doesn't own for the past 9 years, . . the Police have, in reality, so far done little more than to expend time and resources in pursuing enquiries that extend to other Police forces, the DVLA, the DWP, local authorities, the Canal & River Trust, employers and mooring providers in the Rugby area, and ProBoards, the hosts of this Forum.

Proper riveting Back in the 1850s the Thames was modernised including the installation of pound locks and extra weirs. This caused some issues for the gentry as their pleasure grounds were bisected. This hand hammered rivet was part of a bridge construction. The deck has been absent for ages but the remains of the structure are evident on both sides with the rather nice ironwork. No messing around !

A couple of nice oriental plane trees were planted each side of the footbridge (as you do) and have turned into mammoths with a trunk circumference of about 15ft at shoulder height. Apparently the owners of the estate had seven daughters who used to play in the River with gay abandon. I was born in the wrong century. Country estates are quite pleasant. I think it quite ideal to inhabit such a place and dream quietly of the terribleness of the world.

Another week at Slam Transport out of the way. Halfway through the month now. Finished off stickerbombing the Scoopy's side panels, putting more lacquer on this evening. Tomorrow, up to London on the train (then down to Ebbsfleet International on the HS1). Meeting up with one or both of the boys then going to visit my Mum, their Grandma. Won't stay long I expect, she gets very tired after a couple of hours in company. Will play it by ear. Then Sunday I'll start getting one or more of the bikes ready for the Brinklow Festival. If Charlie can get up with his van I'll take all three of the mopeds plus Sam's Deluxe, otherwise I think I'll just ride there on the VeloSolex. Monday, back at Slam Transport I have a job to do which I think might well end up with me getting banned from the loading customer's premises in perpetuity. Which is never a bad thing.

Tough day's work today in the sun. Dismantled a large greenhouse. 10 hours of work. Not like me to do such a long day. The next probably several days will be the puzzle of how to put it back together again.

I was in a lock earlier and chatting with another Boater. Obviously as I was en route to the beer shop I misunderstood when they said they were going to the 'Rewind festival' at Henley. I heard 'free wine festival'. And I was like 'oh right. I might have a run up there in the launch'. Then I realised it was going to be all that 80s jazz. Billy Ocean apparently.
When the going gets tough the the tough turn into old guys.
Might consider a little jaunt on the Podium launch I suppose, with navigation lights this time.

Yes it is nice.
Detectably cooler in the morning.
I can feel September coming.
Hoping for reasonable weather for the next couple of weeks as we have a short trip on the river Wey which means I will want to come back up to the estate afterwards.
Every time I have done the Wey (about 8 times) one of the days it has rained very heavily.

Cruised through Braunston. Lots of boats coming up (passed four in the tunnel) but only us heading down. Worked well for us on the locks. Gloriously glorious day π Rog

Sad to see. Mind you we've only ever been once whilst out walking. Willoughby's a lovely little village but it needs residents support to keep a pub in business. It's up for lease. Been a pub since the early 1500s . Rog
