Bright and sunny today, warm but not unpleasantly so. Have a day of mostly sitting around again today.
Nothing happening re the Scoopy with DVLA as yet.
Payday tomorrow, which is always good.

Nice bright day. Had to cancel the trip to the Wey as the day I was going to move two of the locks packed in and it was uncertain whether they would be fixed. So will have the offsprings at the country estate instead. Still plenty of Boating fun to be had. No one died.

Gloriously blue sky and sunshine this morning and warming up fast, but got as low as 12 degrees in the boat overnight.
Definitely autumn in the air now.
Got a message from work yesterday whilst sat in the pub asking if we're coming back this year.
Nice to be wanted ππ»
Rog
ETA Been up less than an hour and it's 15 degrees in the boat ... that's the problem with lighting a fire at this time of year π

Yes, lovely late Summer's day today, the current weather is just right for me, cool nights and warm, but not uncomfortably so days.
Payday today which is always a bonus. Have managed to build up savings quite well over the Summer.

Slam Transport certainly seem a quality employer ππ»
The blue sky certainly lifts the spirits.
We popped into the church at Stoke Golding yesterday ... worth a visit and always good to see an interior that the Victorians didn't vandalise with plaster and white wash.
Fascinating to know that the building was standing whilst Richard III was losing his life on the plains below, 539 years ago this month.

Always seems strange to me that when Richard III died, they buried him under a car park.

No idea where youβre heading, and I know itβs not your favourite pub, the Rising Sun has a beer fest this weekend. Ales and music and pop up food. Also happy hour Fridays 3-8 PM.

I spent part of my first winter living on a Boat 1994/5 around Stoke Golding. Nice on the Ashby. They had just done some dredging and backfilling on the towpath so there were some great big lumps of coal. Used to be a butcher and small shop in S G.
30 yars ago this winter !

Boat trip on the Podium with the VIP passengers today.
Should be fun.
Decided to paint the Task Master instead of varnish. It was originally black and white so I will do that again.
It'll look great like that.

I guess that goes a long way towards explaining something else I've never understood, why they built Windsor Castle underneath the Heathrow flight path.

First time out in the 'yak for 2 weeks this morning, due to constant high winds. Lovely this morning, maybe 18 degrees with a light north westerly. The fish weren't playing ball though. Just one ballan wrasse for my efforts. There were plenty of bass around, chasing sandeels/ whitebait but I didn't have the gear for them with me. The dolphins were out playing though, porpoise too.
