So I expect a speedy dredging between bridges 1 and 63..
63 being the last bridge, swing foot bridge at the terminus.

Bit like the 'please don't hang up your call is important to us' brigade who then don't help or the eternal pinging back of complaint email that I'm getting from a firm thats took my money but not delivered I tried ringing..100th in line to be answered so I gave up I do believe that Coronageddon has exacerbated an already rotting customer service department...whether it be CRT's or consumers.

Not sure they are thick, just no idea about the canals, some youngster on minimum wage in an office and has more than likely never visited a canal.

It's very frustrating to be sure.
The Customer Service team are sat at a switchboard at £8.50 an hour and wouldn't know a canal if they fell in it.
Running canals like a car insurance company, may be appealing to accountants, but it's never going to work.
Many years ago (1980's) in a former life I met a team of guys on a BW dredger and mess boat. They travelled around the Yorkshire area dredging trouble spots as they went.
I met them at Swinton near Vic Waddington's yard at the junction of the Dearne & Dove. They would drive to the boats and work each day, and then move on to the next week's hotspot. I was REALLY envious of their job.
Of course they've no doubt sold the equipment and laid the guys off to replace them with pleasant call centre folks.

Proper biblical cloudburst in Hull just before lunch ...... enough rain that we had to start the big three phase pump in the drydock, the water was half way up the length of the drydock (slight slope) and was about 10 or 12 inches deep at the deepest point....... now two angle grinders and quite a few power leads soaked in WD40 and hung up to dry out. All the welding gear was grabbed and carried to safety in time. There was a real stream running through the workshop !!!
