Oh I thought it was you doing the weeping. Classic misunderstanding Well your enough to make anybody weep. As for what Peter was saying he's talking about your lack of empathy, you can tell me to mind my own business but didn't you say once that you have a condition that means for not very empathic? Yes I did mention it. I think peter was actually referring to others being compassionate about his "bad life situation" not me specifically. Everyone has different experiences in life. Its easy to make assumptions. Edited to remove pointless comment.

I didn't make it clear enough for everybody to understand, but I was talking about the tears of the people that were reading my postings, and their tears (of compassion) ruining their keyboards, for which I don't want to get blamed for. Peter. Sorry to hear its not going so well for you at the moment Peter. Don't be worried about sharing your troubles, sometimes talking can help. Right now, there's really not much fun living here, and knowing that at any moment they can oblige me to leave this place, and then make me pay for the removal of the floating footbridge that I had to make to follow the water lvel movements. Since VNF have been over a few times for visits and discussions with C&RT they may know of the nice man named Steve Beacham and his Gloucester Dock yard, and use a day that I'm not around to tow my boat to his place where they can moor it against the "Planet", and claim £500 per day-week-month storage fees that I won't be able to pay. Basicly I am a friendly person, I've always helped everybody if, and when I could, and I've never been the creator of problems, but now I'm faced with a bunch of functionaries that aren't interested in the waterways themselfs, but happy to accept their wages working occupying their offices (very much like C&RT), and trying to make life a living hell for anyone making them doing the job they're getting paid for. Even for someone fairly cool that I used to be, it's impossible not to lose your temper when you're trying to explain the problems they created for no reason at all, and they don't want to listen, don't want to know about them and ignore you. I'm spending a lot of the time that I should use for far more important matters, reading through many ad sites, hoping to find a cheap and still good working AK-47 that I'll bring along for my next visit to them, and see if they're willing to listen then, and are even willing to renew my mooring agreement in a more human way. I've been told that many people are very willing to change their minds about all sorts of things when they see one of these AK-47's, so there may still be some hope. Peter.

Peter has a big adventure to look forwards to this Summer, visiting Thunderboaters The way everything is developing here Ross, I think that I should (have to) make that next Summer, if I'm a bit luckier then. It's really too bad, as I was looking forward so much to this trip and short holiday. But if I look around, I can see many people that are even less lucky than I am, so I shouldn't complain too much, it could be much worse. One thing is sure, I'm not happy at all the way everything is going here right now, and would be very happy when that misery is behind me. Peter.

I'm really sorry to hear of your problems Peter. I remember back when I had the problems with crt when broken down. Some idiot in an office somewhere phoning you threatening to take your home and everything you own. Without ever understanding the situation or having visited the boat. In the end I refused to take the phone calls and insisted all communication was through email or text, as they couldn't understand why I would be upset that someone would threaten to take my home. I didn't go as far as finding an ak47, but did think of burning mr parrys house down.

For me the time has come to do everything I can to sell my boats without losing too much money doing that, so that I can buy a small boat back and hopefully cruise around for a couple of years, while trying to enjoy life and spending the money that's leftover, making sure that there's nothing left for the official thieving instances to confiscate when my heart stops beating.
Just found an AK-47, only when I was having a better read of the ad, it worked out to be a realistic looking plastic copy.
Peter.

I found a plastic sub machine gun in the river Ouche near Dijon today.
I think its a child's toy. God knows why anyone would want their kids to play with scarily realistic guns but c'est la vie. La vie de merde.

I know I sometimes worry about the future although it seems I have many friends up here in Yorkshire who are determined to keep me boating.
As access gets harder for me my horizons do have to shrink somewhat, although so far I have managed to keep finding a way to keep boating. My dread is that I would have to stop.

I was just thinking of this song John, and it made me feel better already Peter.

Isn't there some organisation you can get to help you dealing with the navigation authority? Maybe an old skippers Union or something? It's only a thought anyway peter

It's only a thought anyway peter That's not a bad idea Kris, that is if such an organisation would exist, which sadly isn't the case. Also, it would be very hard to do something about it, as this real problem, which is an official approval of an accepted by the VNF expert's rapport that will state that my mooring is safe if we ever have floodings like they've had in France (only once) in 1910, which will require a payment of €1700 + possibly a bunch of (un)needed changes, like my footbridge that 6m could have to be 12m the same as the extension poles that keep my of the bank, or he may ask for big very long tubes to be planted in the riverbed, which will be an additional €.........? fortune + the therefor needed autorisations too. It's all to much for me at this stage in life, maybe 20 years ago I would have been willing to do this, if I would have the money, but now it simply isn't worth it anymore, and way too much hassle to deal with anyway. Peter.

I heard about this topic last year when we randomly were able to stay on a horrible houseboat near Paris at St Cloud because the woman's friend happened to be going out with a bloke who was caretaker for the houseboat and looked after the owners dog.
Apparently they were new requirements about the anchorage to the river bank (river Seine) which was going to be expensive.
Judging by the thing we stayed on I doubt the finances would have been a problem (you never know) but if this was some sort of new requirement over the whole system it could be very bad for a lot of people who don't have money to burn.
I hope you can sort it out Peter. Maybe selling and getting or keeping a small boat is the key. That's what I am planning to do as will not be able to afford to keep a big boat and mooring for much longer.

Have you not thought about living on a boat in a marina in England? Popping out occasionally when you fancy a little jaunt? Let Social Security pay for the lot

Here's a good idea, if someone were to have a largish boat for accommodating fossils, a floating Old Folks' Home. They could still have a go at driving when they were alert, but they would be looked after by the crew. Could do continuous cruising round England.
