Ah well thats 'class' sorted.... We had breakfast lunch and tea..plus if we were lucky a little bit of supper Tea was sandwiches n maybe homemade cake. Lunch pretty grim as either school slop or Granny Glads offering...........(mum bed bound for part of our childhood then returned to work)
When I lived in the other world I think the word Dinner used for evening meal....

Yeah but you’re a snob... us poor folk called it Tea. My point really is that it’s nothing much to do location, but everything to do with that quaint British concept of “Class”. Yes we were middle class. Maybe you were working class? You think me a snob, I think you an inverted snob. Or we could just consider that these words (eg dinner, tea) don’t have universal meaning. 'where you were dragged up' Where I was dragged up was a lovely little village where everyone called the meal after school Tea. Doesn't matter anyway, I am comfortable with who I am, my upbringing and where I am now in my life.

Tonight - despite having left over Roast Beef from yesterday... BECAUSE I've have a go at making sourdough today, we shall be having aforementioned bread with M & S Clementine Curd for tea... When I saw the first picture I thought I was still on the 'Advertising' thread.

Bread and curd for Tea?
When you have beef left over, could easily chuck that in some gravy with onions and pile on top of mash!

I'm gonna carry the (now very thinly sliced left over beef) over to Friday night - when I can be bothered to make the lovely onion gravy again.
The coop have a 2 pizzas and tub of ben and Jerry ice cream (various flavours) on at the moment, for 4 quid so that's Sat night tea sorted too.
