Living in Scotland it is even worse, nearly every time the Scottish news comes on, never mind the brexit bollocks or the coronavirus bollocks or the Tump bollocks, the most important thing seems to be the football bollocks and in particular the latest Rangers/Celtic shenanigans, who has said what racist / sectarian shite. I agree it is the opium of the masses but I donβt want to be a mass.

Anyway, I am really not into spectator sports at all. Canβt see the point. People say they are interested in sport when what they actually mean is sitting on the sofa watching other people doing it. Rather sad IMO. Most sports fans HAVE played sport, but never good enough to achieve elite level. The buzz of the crowd at a live sporting event compensates for the limited view. TV cannot broadcast the atmosphere of an event. Sport is drama in its purest sense, which is why it is so popular ... not sad at all. Rog The atmosphere at Wembley can never be recreated at . On a different not I've spent time at my brothers when he lived in Buckingham and we could see and hear the helicopters all race weekend, but doesn't come across well on tv is that even though we were a good 10 miles from the track the noise from the cars was unbelievable , off course not any more.

Difficult to believe I know ... but soccer is not 'sport' ... it is, despite all media's emphasis just one sport ... there are many others. Rog

F1 - Kimi Raikkonen; leave me alone I know what Iβm doing - enough said! WRC - Retired now but Petter Solberg always wore his heart on his sleeve. Rugby - Dylan Hartley; despite the rep he was more of a pantomime villain than anything else - a true gentleman in the flesh too π

I don't do rugby but my darts man is a rugby player as it happens.
I really like his reaction to a good throw of the spears.
Got to be done!

Although I was up for the trip to Twickenham when it was first banded.
