We could do the same, drive up to Chatsworth or whatever for a walk, alternatively we can be on the Chesterfield canal in 5 mins walking, thats local. We also have some of the lowest infection rates in Derbyshire here, so maybe people obeying the rules are paying off? The Rules here are stay local and dont travel out of the area it seems to be working Well done. Itโs lovely to have nice walks outside your front door isnโt it? Some arenโt so lucky, maybe these women needed a short drive to find a nice walking spot. Also they are friends, probably felt a need to meet up.

Stay local only helps if you're not visiting all your mates and family.
Geography doesn't spread the virus ... interaction does.
The two ladies drove 5 miles from home to meet and walk at a park ... I understand there was no social interaction with anyone but the police.

68 million population ... ten months of restrictions ... 30,000 fines handed out. It's not a massive problem but the 'dodgy' stories always take precedence. I understand that there are around 120,000 police ... allowing for shift work, holidays, and sick leave ... how many police do you think are on duty at any given moment. One must remember that the sole reason for news channels is to make reports ... the alloted time has to be filled with something. Rog I think this is why more and more people are just turning it off and concentrating on looking after those around them. I think Stephen Hawking was right about AI being our biggest threat. We are becoming the very machines we created, no feelings or compassion, just control.

Rog And Starbucks to buy two peppermint teas, they have plenty of walk on the doorstep Rog but decided to have a nice social drink together I understand they travelled separately from two households ... collected drinks separately and independently ... then met at an arranged park about 5 miles from their homes. No rules broken, just a massive over reaction by the police who REALLY ought to have better things to do ... and why Derbyshire are now reviewing all fines imposed. More importantly it''s a none story ... today nothing happened type story which is twisted and blown into something it isn't. I have not yet visited my boat out of respect for the yard residents ... but I will do at some point as I have to ensure all is well. I will not be socially interacting with anyone so no rules will be broken ... and more to the point I will not be spreading anything. Rog

So I am not clear what it is you are complaining about. Is it just that you think the law and rules should be as you want them to be, not as they are?

I visited 3 different counties yesterday, didnโt break any laws. Obviously there will be some support for the fines, people such as yourself seem happy for us to be locked away, even when itโs obvious that some of the rules make little sense. Iโd wager that you have stretched the odd law over the years? I certainly have, and probably do most days. Unless Iโve missed something on this story, the 2 women did nothing that would have harmed anyone, and they broke no laws. Thatโs why the fines are being reviewed. Ian,
Please be careful. If you admit to minor naughtiness the Foxtwat will brand you a master criminal and you will have to take him to the international court in the Hague to seek satisfaction. That or a duel with bargepoles at dawn.

Depends what you feed it on. ๐ฅด Phil 'Oven Sandwiches' at the moment - slices of brown bread, margarined first, emmental slice, mini plum tomatoes halved 8 halves per slice, basil and oregano sprinkled on top, put in oven until ready. Very nice. Finns do this, have not seen it in the UK. Tomatoes can be replaced by a ring-slice of red pepper. Ham and cheese toastie ainโt it? We do a similar thing, kind of a bruschetta.

We do the oven/bread/cheese thing regularly here. Oven on - space in the oven - always looking for something to tuck in there. At one point yesterday my oven contained a home-made quiche, a pear and strawberry crumble, a piece of salmon and some roast potatoes.
Try brie and mango chutney.
