This is Suzuki's description anyway : As they have been doing small 4x4 vehicles since 1970 I suspect it might be there own unit rather than one bought in from another manufacturer.

And it's even got automatic 4wd as that one is the slightly more unusual top of the range version. Manual gearbox. Be very aware that auto 4wd are usually a Haldex unit and if not serviced properly as in oil and filter every 30k miles, which means a disassembly, they fail requiring a new pump. I have had this happen twice on the Yeti once on purchase and once 45k later because the garage didn't change the filter and only changed the oil. Best thing to do is stop on slippy surface and then do a quick start, if you get any wheelspin from the front wheels the Haldex is broken. You would be amazed at the number of 4x4 that aren't because the Haldex is bust! Not a cheap thing to service at home either - the oil and filter is astonishingly expensive, the charge pump needs energising to remove the filter and then the pump itself removing to clean the screen - to achieve this you need Rosstech VAGCOM to run, purge and prime the pump. Hateful job that I am due to do again this year - how time flies! That said, according to VW group the filter is non serviceable so all you get at the dealer is an oil change and around £80-100 pinching out of your wallet! I did all the transmission oils (gearbox, transfer box, haldex and rear diff) on mine last time - I think the bill for oils, bungs and filter came to just shy of £200, not a pleasant way of spending cash nor an afternoon laid under the damn thing pumping stinking oil back into hard to access fill/level plugs. Worth it to not get the dreaded Haldex fault code come up on a scan!

That’s who I used - I’ll have to grab one of those; I’m sure they were the wrong side of a ton for that kit last time I ordered from them!

I believe having looked Suzi have their own version, working in a similar way so it will suffer the same problems.

Well this little Suzi is a very silly car.
I was surprised at the power to be honest, on the motorway it was more than happy at 70 to 80mph and would do more if needed.
So much for reducing the speeding ticket risk...
The stop start is good because it only works if you take foot off clutch in neutral it is not speed sensing so doesn't cut out at the wrong moment.
Nice car to drive economically.
Main problem is lack of soundproofing but it looks like the door cards are easy enough to take off so I can add some at a later date.
Overall very enjoyable on motorway and in town but this could be the new car phenomenon I suppose.
It'll do anyway.
It is silly though. Not that I mind silly but it is unusually silly.
Driving position is well elevated which is nice. Like a micro range rover but without the soundproofing or the big engine or the price tag.

No but it's going for a mud bath later on.
I read "scrapped" initially but I see you wrote "scraped".

It's only a relatively short potholed dirt track with puddles and mud. The Saab was happy on it so I'm sure this incredible 4x4 will be fine.
Good to get some mud on it as it does look a bit too clean.
I will also have to park it under some trees to get bird shit on it.

It's the access track to my winter mooring. Just a farm/fisherman's track.
Not a public right of way.

Anyway driving through central London was like riding a swan. Very serene and Ten times nicer than the Saab. Elevated steering position and nice light steering really good.
Plus the electric assist motor really works. It's like a supercharger with low end grunt and no turbo lag.
Then on the M40 I prodded it until it got go an indicated 90mph and it was perfectly happy. Amazing ride for such a small vehicle. No problem at all it would have done a fair bit more.
I think it's amazing. It doesn't feel at all small I don't know how they did it but it's partly the high cabin and seating height it's just very very pleasant.
Excellent on the country lanes and the LED headlights are something I have not experienced before. Very clear.
And despite the fact I was booting it as only just got the thing the MPG indicated 55 and apparently it is accurate.
Once I start being more relaxed it will definitely be over 60.
Impressive.
And the 4wd does work I tried flooring it in first off the clutch from standstill on a slippery wet bit of road. a tiny bit of slip then it dug in with the back wheels.
Clever toys these modern cars.
Reliability will be interesting but apparently Suzuki have a very good reputation in that regard.
