I assume you do know that a general increase in global temperatures leads to more extreme weather events and that facebook make a lot of money out of it.
The average temperatures [text redacted for national security reasons] and this means that [text redacted again] which causes snow in unusual places at unusual times.
The fact the whole place is getting warmer in general also results in some places getting colder.
Put your hand around the back of a refrigerator. It's really quite warm.
Heat makes cold and cold makes heat.
Similar thing with the planet.
I'm sorry I can't go into further detail but I just signed the 2022 OSA agreement we have to work under which includes quite a lot of added t&c for being an agent of .gov.uk

That's soo last century dahling. The cognoscenti now have a more accurate term for it "Climate Change". It may well end up colder here if the atlantic conveyor stops.

It's silly to link individual extreme weather events with wider climate change. Extreme weather has always happened, and it always will. However, it seems there is very little doubt that there is climate change, and it's driven by human behaviour. What's baffling is government response to this. Politicians talk of 'turbo charging the economy', 'further international co operation' etc. when the root cause of the climate change is a combination of rampant consumerism within a system that relies on perpetual growth for its survival, together with international, rather than more local, supply lines.
It seems that underneath all the bluster governments have given up on the job, have accepted that the damage is unstoppable and irreversible. All they are doing now is trying to protect their own egos so when summoned by God after their inevitable demise to explain their reckless leadership they can reply: "don't blame me guv, I introduced incentives for people to buy brand new electric cars"

Anyone with any sense would have taken the opportunity of Covid to knock the economy down and keep it down. Make people live more basic lives without the bullshit over consumption.
So what if some people can't have new Porsches and own several houses?
Idiot greed will wipe out humans.

Prosperity and burning fossil fuels do tend to go hand in hand. But they donβt have to. The economy could be turbocharged by a relatively green agenda of renewable energy (offshore wind farms, hydroelectric schemes, even fusion power etc) and improving the efficiency of UKβs massive stock of badly insulated housing and business premises. After all, it is a long time since U.K. was a powerhouse of industrial manufacturing, mining, steel making etc, and there are other ways to create wealth.

It is a funny conspiracy that the super rich will go to Mars. I am unsure why money would be useful but I suppose for now it can buy you big artillery to keep the masses from getting on your starship.

So what if some people can't have new Porsches and own several houses? Idiot greed will wipe out humans. This is obvious to many people, why not so to governments? Is it simply that they don't believe they could be elected if they suggested an alternative, sustainable system based on zero growth, re-use and repair rather than replacement, or are they just plain stupid?

I think we should all follow Ricco's example, retreat to living in a cave and spending the day counting our gold coins!

Who would have thought Ricco is a god bothere? I do believe in a higher force, just not one of the ones that are mainstream. I use the term 'God' loosely to represent the higher force of nature, rather than some bloke with a beard, his followers being damned for eternity should they not follow his every word.
