How can this country continue to absorb a city the size of Newcastle every year ? Quite simply it cant, but at the same time I dont trust our politicians to do the right thing if we vote out, especially as BoJo would be in a position of power in any Brexit govt. Do you know this lack of trust argument is one that I hear often, its almost like saying we don't trust the Politicians we elect so lets trust the ones we don't elect, have you decided?

NO, dont get me wrong I dont trust any of them elected or not but the ones we have in this country are particularly untrustworthy especially those in Blue.

I don't know if its just me but the Brexit camp to date have been pretty lacklustre,Boris just hasn't electrified the debate like some expected. Is that a media inspired conclusion ?I don't know. Remember back in the Seventies we all seemed more up for the fighting, more involved, apathy I guess or just plain old no interest but happy just to plod along.

I think its how we have been conditioned for so long, radicalism in a political sense has been demonised by main stream media which is in the main right wing controlled. By demonising it they can point to almost any position they dislike and call it 'loony left' or far left or any of the other names they have decided are de rigour.

I'll be voting in too. Freedom of movement is the most important aspect for me. I've spent more of my life living and working in other countries than I have in the UK, so I think it would be pretty hypocritical of me to vote in a manner that prevents the citizens of those countries enjoying the same freedoms. How can this country continue to absorb a city the size of Newcastle every year ? It won't need to. Immigration/emmigration will level out.

I think Australia have got a much better approach, and have far more land/resources than we do.

Do you not think that as more countries join- among others Turkey and Ukraine both have long-term ambitions to attain eu membership- that immigration is bound to continue to outstrip emigration? It seems to me that we already have a massive imbalance between the population level and the housing stock available, which is why people are living in sheds, garages and in London on narrowboats simply because even a person on an above-average wage is completely unable to buy even a modest flat. The Controlling Classes will always push for population increase since the law of supply and demand states that this pushes down the value of labour and pushes up the value of property.

That last sentence should be given the widest possible coverage, basic economics simply not understood or paid heed to as Personal Debt wipes your worries away

I think macwolfelee may be the sanest one on this subject, despite me having my own views and preferring to hold the rest of Europe at barge pole distance.
Although I don't know if I'm allowed to say that, as it looks like I'm not eligible to vote.
macwolfelee has a track record of saying sensible stuff.
Always worth bearing in mind the 'respect for your elders' - some of us have more experience of life in all its aspects. That gives us a stepped-back perspective at the bigger picture.

Maybe we could get rid of the county's retarded planning laws and build some more housing. We could employ the immigrants to build it
