"Not everybody likes to be laughed at but for someone who is a clown, your worst nightmare would be to not be laughed at," Mrs Fries Neumann told the BBC's Good Morning Ulster programme. Luckily everybody laughs at Jim the Rejoiner Clown.Β Get it right, keep up, the lad at the back. Remain is sooo '16. When I was younger my mates laughed when I said I was going to be a clown. They're not laughing now.

Just.to get back on topic for a moment. I got a text from Tesco on Tuesday morning saying because of issues at the store they were unable to deliver my order and no charge was made. I phoned and persuaded them to deliver on Thursday, but on the.morning I again got the same text message. So this time I phoned head office and got an assured delivery on Sunday, I shall wait and see. Head office told me they had a lack of drivers and pickers so we're having to cut back. Pity they couldn't advise on this when placing an order. Oh and as I have a delivery pass I was surprised to see a Β£3-00 fee for pick, pack and deliver because Sunday is outside my delivery timing, of course I took steps to get this removed. So as you were, back to the thread

Thing that gets me with that, pickers and van delivery is not exactly an arduous occupation ...... but I suppose (I don't know) it might not be particularly well paid. That takes it back to both my comments in the past and Telemachus latest post ...... if you are not prepared to pay a wage that enables people to pay their bills without additional government assistance, why do you expect people to do the job ?

I applied for a Tesco delivery driver job last year when they supposedly had shortages - got turned down - no reason given...

I had a leaflet delivered by the postman, seeking drivers for food deliveries for Sainsbury, Β£17-50 pH plus a bonus for signing up of I think Β£1000 So not too shabby Phil

On a similar topic I see the army are indeed getting employed to support the transport company bosses so they don't have to give up any of their luxuries by paying people properly.
How nice. At least we know what the priorities are.

At least we know what the priorities are. They can pay as much as they want, but if there are no drivers then it donβt mean jack. shortage of drivers is the clue Andrew

Shortage of drivers? Oh yes, caused in large part by poor pay and working conditions. Seems pretty obvious that pay should be increased but the bosses who make huge profits from something virtually everyone relies on for day to day existence don't want to take a pay cut do they

I don't think I'm eligible as have 9 points on license. All minor speeding infringements on 40mph dual carriageway but points is points.
I'd quite like to do it but 2 more years before points come off.

I know it's terrible.
Expensive private education, tall dark rich and handsome, more brains than you could eat and what do I get?
Pointless dead beat layabout beer drinking boat nut with plastic bucket addiction.
The corporate world missed me I know it.
