I know it's terrible. Expensive private education, tall dark rich and handsome, more brains than you could eat and what do I get? Pointless dead beat layabout beer drinking boat nut with plastic bucket addiction. The corporate world missed me I know it. Yes, oh well I suppose every family needs one rebrebate to spend all the money on boats and beer.

Someone has to do it! Seems a shame not to let them down.

I had a leaflet delivered by the postman, seeking drivers for food deliveries for Sainsbury, £17-50 pH plus a bonus for signing up of I think £1000 So not too shabby Phil Strongly suspect that was for HGV drivers and not the van delivery drivers (can't remember what the hourly rate is/was for the van drivers - other than that's not too bad). I've thought about this sort of thing but sooner or later you'll be delivering Karen's monthly shop on the fifteenth floor (and the lift is out of order).

Can cope with that sort of thing - it's a bit like trying to get an occasional lock on the L&L or the GU to level off.............

Your right, the lock won't do that ....... it'll just try and sink your boat for you

Speaking of supermarkets I have noticed the last couple of trips to Sainsbury in Marlow there was very little choice as to what pasta to buy.
Obviously the organic sun dried tomatoes are a luxury item but pasta is getting a bit of a "staple diet" product. Why people would eat staples I don't know but it takes all sorts.
Checked the stationary section and indeed no staples.
Worrying times.
I wonder if people are hoarding pasta at this point in time.
It seems plausible that there is some nervousness around it all.
Specially around pasta.

Thing that gets me with that, pickers and van delivery is not exactly an arduous occupation ...... but I suppose (I don't know) it might not be particularly well paid. That takes it back to both my comments in the past and Telemachus latest post ...... if you are not prepared to pay a wage that enables people to pay their bills without additional government assistance, why do you expect people to do the job ? I had a leaflet delivered by the postman, seeking drivers for food deliveries for Sainsbury, £17-50 pH plus a bonus for signing up of I think £1000 So not too shabby Phil that will be hgv. There's no way they pay van drivers that.

I'll be applying soon. Can't raise the funds myself so will be applying to join the warehouse to wheels scheme.
Unless they get of their high horse and sort out a promotion.

I haven't noticed it much with pasta but I couldn't get tagliatelli for a while.
All the types the masses generally buy were there (you know, the stuff in tins)

I mean bagged hard pasta not tins.
Lidl in Limehouse was also very short of this sort of pasta when I had the misfortune to be in there a few days ago.
Usually loads available in both of those rather different supermarkets.

I've been saying I want to do it for years. Perhaps now is the best time.
I'm just hoping I get accepted. I did apply for a level 2 logistic apprenticeship this year so that may prevent me from being successful.
I'll see. I may have to do some arguing.
Someone from work is doing it on their own. They have had to wait 6 months for a space.

When I used to gobble Yorkie bars on train back from school having lifted them from the sweet shop (encouraged by others it was not me officer!) by the station they were wrapped in paper and foil and had seven chunks.
