I've been saying I want to do it for years. Perhaps now is the best time. I'm just hoping I get accepted. I did apply for a level 2 logistic apprenticeship this year so that may prevent me from being successful. I'll see. I may have to do some arguing. Someone from work is doing it on their own. They have had to wait 6 months for a space. They're going to make it like it was in ye olden days when you could go straight to Class 1 from a car licence so hang fire for that. Good if you can get work to fund it although you will have to sign a two-year tie-in contract.

Mrs Greenman bagged several bottles of Badger Beer. So all is good with the world.

I had a leaflet delivered by the postman, seeking drivers for food deliveries for Sainsbury, £17-50 pH plus a bonus for signing up of I think £1000 So not too shabby Phil that will be hgv. There's no way they pay van drivers that. You are wrong, the ad was aimed at aspiring shopping delivery drivers, look out for the leaflet in the post Phil

Normal rates for van delivery drivers are in the region of £10 per hour.

At one time branding was an assurance of quality. These days it is simply about marketing to the credible. A good example of this is Cadbury's, one of the first household names. ETA Ironically, branding was initially a response to widespread foodstuff adulteration.

Why would they be challenged after all it is up to Sainsbury if they are prepared to pay over the odds, maybe if Tesco paid more they would not be struggling for drivers,, just look at the income that one driver generates in the course of a day. Phil Because Sainsburys don't pay van delivery drivers that amount. Believe what you choose but don't get caught out by false advertising...

Phil I'd be surprised if van delivery drivers were earning £17.50 per hour but then I suppose stranger things happen at sea. Really we need to see this leaflet to do an in-depth analysis. I largely suspect the leaflet is a generic appeal for drivers containing the magic words "up to" immediately before the offer.

Paul has had phone calls & texts offering good money if he fancied driving again. As he's retired & has let medicals etc lapse-he's declined.Funny really as he only ended up driving due to the family business back in the day.

Just looked at their website all local delivery jobs that I saw were £10.25hr There were a few other driving jobs that didn't state an actual rate of pay.
