That one does seem like a load of old kumquat. I wonder what the thinking behind it was? Also if you have an EU-flagged reg plate it needs to be changed or the EU symbol covered with a Union flag sticker. If you have that you don't need an additional UK sticker on the car. But I isn't planning on visiting the EU anyhow.

With all the shenanigans over the sausages or was it fish? It was felt important to include them in our new found 'freedom', so the UK it was. You can have uk ovals in the style of the old GB ones or UK on a blue side band on your number plates with a Union Jack/flag above it in the style of the old EU stars one.

Only called a 'Union Jack' when displayed aboard a ship. Not sure but a brain worm is saying only British naval vessels are entitled to fly it. However this could be the onset of senile pedantry.

However this could be the onset of senile pedantry. it's complex ..... normally referred to as a "jack" when flown on the jackstaff (Royal and Merchant) and the only place that a Union Flag is flown on either vessels under normal conditions
Pilot Jack is the union flag with a white border and was originally a request for a pilot
I believe "Jack" pre dates and just refers to a flag flown from right fwd on old sailing ships with some of the early types of rigging
I believe the Union Jack was originally just called the Union Flag
even authorities seem to disagree

The rules only to apply to cars registered or new plates fitted after the date.
Existing eu plates don't need to cover anything up just require an extra uk sticker somewhere.

The thing is, if people call it a Union Jack, then it's called a Union Jack. Language is descriptive, not prescriptive.

I think maybe sticking with horses is best.

But oh yes, you're a heathen twat. They probably won't let you out of the country. Or possibly back in again. Anyway have you even got a passport? ETA the Dutch regard us as lepers and require all the tests and proofs. But in any case they aren't allowing degenerate reprobates in at the moment. Business only, it seems.

Anyway, I don’t want a UK badge, I like my GB ones. Used to be proud to cross the channel displaying it. It’s a bloody shambles, thought Brexit was supposed to cut red tape? GB badges just look correct. Would have thought Boris had more important things to sort out.
