I've dug out my mini USB fan and I intend to strip from the waist down and clamp it between my legs pointing at my testicles.

We've got a couple of those mini usb fans and they've come in quite handy. However after that troubling vision of Stabby I'm not sure I can bring myself to use them again.

Just looked on CaRT website to check on any problems on the South Oxford as we're due to leave the Thames. None were reported, but I caught sight of the River Severn where apparently strong flows with possible red boards are reported. W.T.F.?

Anyway, here's a photo of my mini USB fan. I can post a photo of the whole set-up if anyone is interested? ![https://i.imgur.com/9XalOgvl.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/9XalOgvl.jpg)

Weโve stopped on a really nice mooring above Shiplake lock, here since yesterday but it is too good a heatwave mooring to give up. Under a large tree, next to a water point, the cooling river Thames to swim in, shore power, 1 mile from Shiplake station where we can go to Henley to lurk in the Waitrose freezer isle closely examining their bags of ice for hours. Ok itโs ยฃ11 a day plus ยฃ2.50 for power, but well worth it IMO.

Well tomorrow's supposed to be the hottest day ... 38 degrees in Worcestershire. Hope everyone keeps cool ๐ So far it's not been too bad overnight so our sleeping's been unaffected, which is a definite plus. Having said that, we may have nightmares tonight with horrific visions of Mr Stabby in his pants, fanning his unfeasibly large testicles ๐ Rog

If they get too close to that fan they won't be large for long.

It has been hot here in the past 3 weeks but now overcast, has been raining, and cooler... and as there are few mosquitoes about now we are going to have a go at painting the white woodwork all around the house, starting tomorrow. I reckon it will take a week. Good chance to do it as the week after that we're busy with the Witch's family turning up. Has been on my Things To Do list for a while. A job for the both of us - one to wield the paintbrush, and the other to make sure the walls and terrace and red brick columns don't get paint splashed on them (we have protective plastic sheeting which we'll have to keep moving around). Now that I'm not working I have also started to pay attention to the garden which has been the Witch's domain... I hadn't really thought how large the garden is until she showed me how the lawnmower works... well, makes a change from cutting trees down and turning them into logs, that's a job we may never be doing again - Witch's forests sold, forest around the bus garage in Kannus all gone, and found a local supplier of logs.. all we have to do is the stacking, but we have enough for 3 winters already. A trip to the UK in October in mind. Unless, of course, it's been blown up by Russia by then!

THE prospect of a heatwave will force Britons to look at shit tattoos for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
High temperatures are likely to result in tattooed people revealing thousands of Celtic bands, faded British bulldogs and embarrassing childrenโs names.
Meteorologist Donna Sheridan said: โCoastal towns in the south of England can expect dolphins, badly-drawn images of Tweety Bird and โCarpe Diemโ.
โIn the Midlands through to the North there will be outbreaks of barbed wire with roses, huge gothic script and the occasional scattered swastika.
โOur advice is to protect yourself at all times with a high-factor sun cream smeared on your sunglasses so you canโt see these fucking abominations.โ
The record numbers of crap tattoos will reach as far north as the Shetlands, where forecasts predict unattractive mermaids that have grown strangely plump as their owners got fatter.
Sheridan added: โThese are highly unusual tattoo conditions. Yesterday I saw a guy with a huge tat of Green Day covering his back. Who would get that?โ
