Just wondered how the water levels were managing if anyone's on there or indeed just left. Based on Atherstone locks levels I'm guessing okay. Thinking of a detour up there for a week or so. Rog I think you may be OK with the water levels but I am beginning to get concerned about the laundry trip next Tuesday

There's always Hinckley Marina metanoia 😁 Rog True.... ... but I often think of Trinity marina as "cheating" somehow!

We used the Hinckley launderette last time we were up there ... but it's service wash only.
Prefer to do our own.

There's only one thing in common between the Ribble Link and the Ashby Canal Tony and that's that you need a boat to go on them. I think a decent pair of waders is enough for the Ashby Canal - and using them would raise the water level for the boaters.

No incontinence issues ... just we like to use our own choice of powders and conditioners and remove from tumbling items that aren't suited to it.
We find with a service wash everything's just chucked in together.

Well we're on the Ashby now. Levels okay ... as low as usual to be honest. No sign of lampiniafloat ... not heard from Jane for a long time sadly. A massive construction site on the south side of Nuneaton near the Griff Arm ... distribution centres apparently providing over 400 jobs. Any idea what companies twerp2 (Asleep) ? Rog

I think the warehouse is probably there to store all the unconsumed doughnuts.

Rog I have no idea Rog, i know they are building on the old farm as you come out of Nuneaton past the griff arm, but all you can see is a big industrial unit going up, more than likely up for rent soon. On the left also a shed load of new houses! Ive not seen Jane for a while also, the boat always appeared empty when i passed, Her husband was ill, fingers crossed all is good!

It is a lovely, slow pace canal.
You do forget how peaceful and rural it is for the most part.
Having said that we moored to visit Hinckley to shop, and ended up staying the night.
The Lidl that was being built on our last visit (2019) is of course open now ... the town looked quite busy and bustling in the sun, but it was a market day. Bought a load of charity shop books too.
Aqua Vista have taken over the marina and put excellent fencing and security gates up. Not great for the casual visitor but must reassure the residents (inmates?).
Was considering a visit to the chandlery and maybe get diesel but the 'welcome' has persuaded me to try Ashby Boats instead 👍

Moored on the offside moorings at Stoke Golding / Dadlington and it looks like the adjacent fields are soon to be housing. The fields are across the lane so I don't seem them affecting the moorings directly but it will certainly change the atmosphere there. Rog

And another Ashby story ... has anyone been to the Triumph visitor centre ? Apparently it's £25 each for a 90 minute tour which has to be booked in advance. Is it worth it for the likes of us, who aren't bikers but just like to admire bikes when we seem them ? Rog
