And another Ashby story ... has anyone been to the Triumph visitor centre ? Apparently it's £25 each for a 90 minute tour which has to be booked in advance. Is it worth it for the likes of us, who aren't bikers but just like to admire bikes when we seem them ? Rog I’ve been on the tour a couple of times. Good if you like bikes and CNC machines.

Terrific farm shop just off bridge 25 by Ashby Boats ... pleasant stroll from the Stoke Golding moorings. They're apparently planning to open a tearoom too. Nice people and good stuff for sale 👍 Rog

Daughter and Bf have descended on us for weekend. Having lunch in the pub at Wadenhoe. Moored bottom of garden and about to go get a pint.

Another housing estate being built canal side from bridge 41 to the road bridge 42 ... on the narrow strip of vacant land between the canal and the railway.

The much advertised Spinney Bank farm shop had no significant stock when we visited, and a slightly unfriendly woman who basically asked us what we were doing there. Whereas the Tomlinsons one was very friendly and had good stock. When we mentioned that the cut was littered with signs for Spinney Bank, whereas there were none for Tomlinsons, the chap advised that their signs disappeared regularly and he was pretty sure he knew who and why (ie the competition).

Spinney Bank Farm Shop - Tripadvisor: "We visited this farm shop because we had read good reviews and were keen to stock up on some good local produce. First impressions were poor, a cold counter with a few tired looking vegetables, another cold cabinet which was empty, all completely underwhelming. We bought some milk, tomatoes and a cherry cake. There was little else of interest. I have just tried the cake it is terrible, dry and tasteless as are the tomatoes. Next time I’m passing I will keep going."

Apparently Tomlinsons was the first (according to the young fella who served us).
A proper shop with loads of good stuff.
I look forward to their teashop opening too 👍

Lovely little town is Market Bosworth. Sadly the butcher has gone. We had a lovely walk around the Country Park too, only minutes from the market square. What a great resort for locals. Raining as we got gack on board at 3.30pm Rog ETA loved the helmet hanging baskets 😁

Spinney used to be good. Really high quality meat and fantastic goat. It all changed when the farmer broke his back. I believe the lady(wife) struggles with the workload.
