We're going to give the Lancaster a third try next summer. Try 1 a breach just before we got there. Try 2 Crap weather & then the tides after we got as far as Tarleton. Try 3... We really want to do this,so fingers crossed.

Just us two & Big Barney cat-perfect/purrfect.Chicken & stuffing 'cushion' from our fab local butcher with his piggies in blankets-plus trimmings.Christmas pud for him, mince pie & brandy cream for me.Been feeding the Christmas cake with brandy & I'd already put plenty of boozy stuff in it !! We were invited to a party on the 23rd at my nephew's with his wife & 3 boys aged almost 5,almost 3 & a 9 month old.As there will be lots of midget humans with bouncy castles, pinatas, toddler rave disco, hysteria & probably puking-we have declined tbis kind offer...π Had hoped to gatecrash (yours, not your nephew's - shudder!!) but the Llan has been so very busy this year I turned back... I fear Ellesmere might be turning into the new Hebden Bridge! Enjoy, Trina - hope to catch up with you out here again soon x Looking at Jane's fb and the boat vloggers we watch, it seems the world and its dog is on the Llangollen for winter. Out of curiosity metanoia how far did you get before you abandoned and turned back ? Rog

First xmas without Mum. I'm doing nothing. I'm hoping to venture out for a walk. Ideally though, if it's calm enough, out on the kayak, the only risk of a stranger wishing me 'merry christmas' then being the walk to and from the sailing club.

Iβve never really understood those that canβt happily receive good wishes from passers by at times like Christmas. Where is the harm in just smiling back at well wishers and continuing on your way? Odd how differently we see the world. I wish you calm waters and a good paddle on the day π

Odd how differently we see the world. I wish you calm waters and a good paddle on the day π I suppose it brings a focus on the sadness. The very best thing that could happen as regards Christmas would be for it not to exist. That would be fantastic. Given that this is impossible, the next best thing is to ignore it, pretend it doesn't exist. The more 'season's greetings' received, the more difficult this becomes.

Has anyone got away without hearing 'Last Christmas'.
I've still not heard it despite shopping every day.
This one will be more stressful than usual as we have the Will court case to contend with. The thought of either getting Β£300,000 or not getting it does cause some anxiety.
Its all rather alarming but it is in process and not adversarial we just need the Court to decide if the old man's wishes should be respected.
No idea how long it will take it could be months.
The old man died on 17th December 2018...
Also a bit disappointing that my elderly aunt seems to have ignored me. She left her house to my cousin. How rude !
Next yar I may have to 'get a job' which is toweringly terrifying but also a little extraordinarily exciting.

I suppose I can't moan. Managed to never work as an 'adult' and if still around I will be 50 next April. 32 yars. With a following wind and very low outgoings I might get another 32!
What a shocker.
