Yes I thought it was funny at first but it doesn't seem that way now. Never mind got a few things sorted today. I wouldn't worry about it, the issues your facing are nothing out of the ordinary for a new boat purchase. Yes, I've said before (and this is genuine constructive criticism, not "having a pop") that Andy would have done better to have stayed in the local area for the first few months, shaking out any problems and doing any snagging work required, before undertaking such an ambitious trip, especially if, as I understand it, the previous owner made very little use of the engine and driveline, being connected to shore power.

I tend to agree, but it's easy with hindsight.

I understand your point of view, however life is short, do what you can whilst you have life. Whilst some of the problems are difficult to sort as I'm moving around none so far have been insurmountable.
Most of all I'm happy trying.

I tend to agree, but it's easy with hindsight. A day or two would have sufficed. I see nothing wrong with Donkey getting his skates on (but to where... who can say?!) (a date with Bizzard?). So long as you are in RCR (via insurance company - much cheaper) (and having seen RCR 'mechanics' at 'work' I am not impressed) and know where marinas/chandleries are along the route, so that in an emergency/breakdown the site of help in known. Well done to Donkey if this is his first boat and first trip.

I think it might have been you saying he got ripped off with the boat he bought. Yes I thought it was funny at first but it doesn't seem that way now. Never mind got a few things sorted today. Did you have a look at that big hole in the bottom of the boat? The one which wss bunged up with chewing gum but the water was still coming in through.

Meanwhile I'll stay up all night bailing out the water.

I painted the top of one of my boats with hammerite "wild thyme" last year for a similar reason. It did not work. There are already some rust spots showing.

that is the most important thing of all !!! Maybe, but giving Foxy a bonce on the nose sometimes takes equal importance!
