I had pet ducks when I was about 5. A pair of Indian runners. We had other ducks bantams and chickens due to big gardens and hippy parent$. One day the fox came and bit off most of their heads. Including my lady Indian runner. The male survived the attack somehow but he was never the same again. I was scared shitless of foxes after that. My sons 2 ducks had their heads bit off..I duly dug their grave to be told by son I should have left them out as fox food.... The fox had got into the run I'd spent ages constructing..

One day my mum found the fox in with the chickens and she pursued it fiercely. It ended up climbing a fence and jumping into the large hammer pond in our garden. Fox injured itself badly so we were able to get hold of it and take it to the vet to be put down. The vet refused because if the local hunt heard about it they would curse her and probably take their business elsewhere. Injured foxes are ideal for hunting. So it was stitched up and released.
