Thats her exactly the same in every way beautiful or not Alphacraft have built a huge variation if craft over the years. norfolk.broads.org.uk/wiki/index.php5?title=Alphacraft_of_BrundallBroadland had a huge boat building industry at one time. Lots of skill and knowledge. Lowestoft still has a presence in training and education at the International Boat Building College. ibtc.co.uk/Far from being a bunch of beet kicking thickos the Broads yards were and still are home to proper boat builders. Some real flash nice stuff made there too, on the Yare alone Corvette (no longer made in the uk sadly) www.corvettemarine.co.uk/ and Broom boats www.broomboats.com/

When its cleaned up inside as well as outside I will post pictures. They are a well laid out boat apart from the engine in the bathroom which is a nightmare to say the least

I have now removed 3 x the big wheellie bins worth of rubbish out off the thing! The engine runs, central heating works not sure about the inverter. I reckon one more bins worth will do it!! I reckon it will all be sorted by January, I wouldnt want to do a cold winter in it as it doesnt seem to keep the heat well, and the dehumidifier has removed about 10 litres of water out of it as well. If I was to keep her I would have to change the inside around a bit to fit in a stove with backboiler but that isnt the plan I still would like her to leave my life next year with a bit of extra dosh to make it all worthwhile

There's a boat very similar to that at Mayroyd moorings in Hebden Bridge. I think owned by the guy that owns the moorings. There is a good few I think. One used to moor at Lemonroyd when we did. It was a liveaboard too.

I will when its all cleaned up the pump is sortered for 16 squids which is better than the 171 plus vat squids for a new one [mine it turns out is obsolete so spares arnt carried for it] so just going to fit it and make sure all is well

No numbers on it but when I took it apart its a single twin race bearing set up which looks just like what should be on a 1.5 diesel which is now a goner but city seals and bearings had two 2 seals and the bearing so job done. Have had a cruise up the river and back pump doesnt leak but something does on the engine so thats tomorrows job cut a hatch to find the leak and look why steering has a lot of free play in it along with cleaning

The 4900 is an old pedestal mounted pump, it runs in plain bronze, the seal is only a graphite impregnated ring behind the gland nut. Thornycroft used loads of em.
Glad you got it sorted though.
Steering may be a drum and cable, if so you can tension them up.
If it's a Morse/Teleflex cable it will get expensive to replace cable and helm if it's worn.
Check the pivot on the rudder stock, also check for play in the rudder shaft through the stuffing gland..
I take it its coolant or raw water it's leaking?

I have no idea what the number of the pump was just grateful it was an easy fix cant find it on the site! The steering looks like teleflex if I am honest But Ken the neighbor thinks its a mix of both!! I dont know as I can see the cable so I will give it a good coat of looking at tomorrow. The water leak is coolant its from the side of the engine I cant see, because the knobs that built it put the bulkhead there total crap! jigsaw and angle grinder job tomorrow to sort that then put hinges on it. They dont even have an air filter on them because there is no room total poo design
