I bought a Broads cruiser today bigish orange thing the owner died a couple of months ago and son doesnt want it. It requires work but dont all boats, what surprises me is the amount of space in them. It wants the dehumidifier in it to get the damp out and it really needs a very good clean but it will keep me occupied and it should turn a profit at the end...................fingers crossed

Good luck with it ..... they are often a bit of a bathtub style wise (though I have seen some elegant looking types) When anyone has asked me about GRP to live on I have recommended they take a look at ex-hire Broads cruisers. Some of them seem a bit mean on the insulation and some are fairly underpowered but as you say, bags of space and being all one level make good conversions for liveaboards

Congratulations, which, when applied to an old boat is akin to that old Chinese saying, may you live in interesting times.
Now how about some pics!!! You are such a tease!

They are not pretty things but the canopy at the front slides back to give a nice airy feel to the boat it has a BMC 1500 which for me is the spawn of the devil but I know it has been rebuilt at great cost so it should be good for at least another 5 hours before it wants doing again ha ha

it has a BMC 1500 which for me is the spawn of the devil I think the BMC 1.5 is a bit like Marmite. Certainly I find mine very easy to work on, and very resistant to my ham-fistedness.

Oooooo a big yogurt pot:)
cant wait to see it, would love one myself to see what can be done with them. Will be ways to make them look better. Not that i think they are that bad, makes a change from a sewer tube.

Nothing done today weather not good and my whispergen broke!! The evaporator clogged up and split they are supposed to be serviced every 500 hours, but mine has done 6000 hours!! oops anyway fitted a new one and sorted out a water leak and its silence once again. He has a secondhand one that has done 100 hours I might buy it as a spare and put it in the toy garage for later

Sounds like one of Bounty Boats. If I recall they wee called the Buccaneer. The sliding salon roof can be draughty.

Thats the issue Tony we dont know much about it, its called caprice 11 and it was made in 83 and it looks like a broom 32 foot long cant find any paperwork for it at all other than the hire pack maybe there will be something in there. I will post pictures tomorrow as long as weather is good. I think you are right about drafty though just brushes to stop the breeze!!
