I don't mind camper vans. I don't mind small cars. I like boats, I like dinghies, I don't mind boats towing dinghies - so why do I have a deep hatred of camper vans towing small cars?

This has just come up on another forum. It had completely passed me by. Suits me, I don't have an income. I'm pretty sure there will be scope within the sentencing guidelines for them to recoup a fine somehow, probably by forcing you to sell your assets including your camper van. This is the government we are talking about after all.

It's one I don't get either TBH, every time I see one I say to Jan, - 'He/she might as well be towing a caravan'. But each to their own I guess.

That is a tidy little camper, very nice. park it on your drive, holiday on a whim Yes, neat outfit. I like that. Unobtrusive, and away you go whenever, wherever. I would like to point out that carrying tents gives extra accommodation for guests/visitors - I took my old 2-man Phoenix Phantom mountain tent to our narrowboat, just in case. Takes up no room at all (it's under the steps with a decent sleeping bag).

Hotels or bnbs??? I can stay on a really first class award winning site in Silverdale, Holgates, with views over Morecambe Bay ..... restaurant with great local food I bet the salmon is 'fake farmed' from Norway. Shall I phone them and ask? It's riddled in lice and they use organo-phosphates to kill the lice which enters your nervous system and makes you all doddery.

I've just come home from work and have turned the sauna on. First some gin and grapefruit lemonade... sauna is really nothing luxurious. What I miss from England is a bath, wallowing in a bath with an Ordnance Survey map in my mitts.

Almost, but I'd guess more people hate caravans. You could start a poll thread. I have no idea, and a poll would be useless anyway as I don't for one second believe this forum is representative of the UK population generally. Yep - not many thickos in here.

This has just come up on another forum. It had completely passed me by. I was aware of the more draconian penalties in the pipeline. It won't change attitudes, just lighten wallets a bit more. I'd rather see harsher penalties for the 20-50 bracket, it's where most of the speeding is done in often the most riskiest areas.

And even if a camp site is full, they'll always find a spot to squeeze in a cute little camper. With the added bonus if they can't you can squeeze in any where wild camping style.

Don't you just love the Daily Mail.
"Hertfordshire Police has been inundated with 30 big cat reports from stunned eye-witnesses in the last five years alone, a Freedom of Information request revealed."
I hope the Police force have recruited extra staff to cope with the inundation of calls...

Come on, that's 12 a year - ie. one a month. Where are the Neighbourhood Watch when you need 'em, eh? THE BEAST OF HERTFORDSHIRE
