I must admit it's quite 'grim' sometimes this caravanning lark...... (us in Scotland last week) I dont know why we endure it really. (Cue the predictable and 'banal' responses about the view being spoilt by a big white box) Are there no B&B's or Hotels in that part of Jockland? Yes I believe there are.

Blimey, I wouldn't to be dragging that whopper very far. Well we dragged it to Lake Como last year so 250 miles to Scotland was just a bit of a 'Sunday afternoon run' really.

This is me. I like to travel lighter, it has everything I need -hook up, mains charger, eber, solar, fridge, cooker, sink, water. I'm well aware these cause road rage too, your average motorist just feels the need to overtake me! Mostly I chill and let them, but mine has 2x the torque that VW intended so sometimes I put my foot down instead. You need to be able to keep up, I wouldn't enjoy causing a tailback. I wish my boat engine bay was so clean and accessable.

l hate all Volkswagen vehicles.
A small motorhome is a nice idea which has tempted me though.
I have always fancied a nice Commer myself.

That is a tidy little camper, very nice. Thank you. It was a wreck with no interior and small engine and gearbox. 6 weeks solid welding etc. I did everything including the sewing. Not quite true a friend did the engine machining up from 1970cc to 2413cc and built up the core engine while he was at it. It's a good vehicle, it appreciates, free historic road tax, pennies to insure, park it on your drive, holiday on a whim and someone will start a conversation with you every time you stop. They are of course a bit love or hate them.

And even if a camp site is full, they'll always find a spot to squeeze in a cute little camper.

Hotels or bnbs??? I can stay on a really first class award winning site in Silverdale, Holgates, with views over Morecambe bay and Arnside Knott, with swimming pool, sauna, steam room, a hot or a cold Jacuzzi, bar and restaurant with great local food, ten pin bowling alley, Β£35 per night for the two of us. For mr picky - it's spotless, way cleaner than a suomi shithouse. Round the corner is Hawes Villa, a basic farm site, home grown and produced pork pies, sausage etc to die for, pop up cafe on a sunday in a yurt, hens wandering round the vans, electric hook up and wifi, adjacent to Hawes Water (the largest Natural lake in Lancashire) with a private jetty, adjacent to Gait Barrows nature reserve, Β£12 per night all in. The bogshed is clean, but made of tanalised boards with the breeze blowing round your ankles. Both these sites are close to RSPB Leighton Moss too.
Remind me how much a hotel costs again? Did they change the sheets and check for fleas and bed bugs?
