Why not just put a bullet in his head? Oh, forgot, deprived childhood, and 'trying to turn his life around'.

Why not just put a bullet in his head? Oh, forgot, deprived childhood, and 'trying to turn his life around'. Death penalty is not available in the UK and the powers that be are not willing to arrange a plebiscite because everyone would vote for it The only reason to arrange a plebiscite is if it is going to divide the population like the brexit one did. The last thing you want to do is get people to agree with each other ! Where would that get us?

Sadly there are those who will lie and cheat to gain from tragedy...there are some horrible people in this world.

You're right Patty, but the secret is to keep a sense of balance and remember that there's very few.

"will spend 6 years behind bars." Aye, right! 3 off for remission, and probably out on licence before the other 3 are up.

"Five men have handed themselves into police over a sickening video where Guy Fawkes revellers laughed as they burned a home-made Grenfell Tower effigy, complete with screaming victims at its windows. The men, aged between 19 and 55, have been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence over the 'vile' effigy, while Scotland Yard detectives are investigating whether the culprits can also be prosecuted for hate crimes."
Source: all news sources
"Grenfell was a disaster waiting to happen however everything about it sums up what is wrong with this country. Unchecked immigration, health and safety failures, council failures, construction failures, building material failure, government failure, fraud, free taxpayers money handed out to everyone, some not even living at Grenfell, outpouring of sympathy (including many cuddly toys), loads of money to lawyers, judges and the legal profession. Nearly one and a half years later, fuck all has really happened, the inquiry still going, and nobody charged. A monumental farce from start to finish."
Source: elsewhere
To add: "This country has been perpetrating the “hate crime” of burning a Catholic effigy for 413 years to date. No prosecutions ever."

I agree, and it's good to know that there is so little violent crime in London nowadays that Plod could spare a dozen flatfoots to search their house and rummage through their bins today in a valiant attempt to stamp out gallows humour.

Insensitive crass sickening Yes, all of those things but at the end of the day what they did was to burn a cardboard box in their back garden and I'm sure the Metropolitan Police have more pressing issues to deal with.

What on Earth are they expecting to find in their dustbins? Yes, it is sickening how people are given Council flats and then sub-rent them out to people who then sub-let them out, so that person letter C is paying the bigger sum and persons B and A and gathering money - illegally - for nothing. I wonder if anyone at the Royal Borough of Chelsea and Kensington's council offices knew that this kind of rent racket was going on? Perhaps the burning of the cardboard box was symbolic of people's anger at the borough having people on the housing list for years and years, homeless people and those who have to shack up with their parents forever and ever, whilst Grenfell Tower was full of people who well knew they got their flats by bypassing the usual route. I see the act as a bit of silliness. The real crime is letting the Borough's councillors get away with their nonsense. "There can be no better example of corrupt power and lack of scrutiny than the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation. The Council’s long-arm landlord has made the life of tenants and leaseholders a misery for many years and instead of being held to account by the Local Authority the TMO enjoy an unholy relationship that allows them to act with impunity. Anyone seeing the heartless RBKC Head of Housing, Laura Johnson and the sleazy TMO Director, Robert Black, together will realise that accountability, scrutiny and justice for victims of the TMO are very low priorities indeed." grenfellactiongroup.wordpress.com/2016/07/17/kctmo-justice-is-coming/

I'm afraid the fault lays with us, the public, once again demanding something 'be done about it' rather than just treating the issue with the contempt it deserves. I'm sure even the Met could pick more worthy targets for their attention. Rog
