An eye catching policy from the first day of the Conservative party conference....University tuition fees frozen at £9250! They just don't get it do they. he is respected for his honesty and principles, He is a lifelong Brexiteer, where was his honesty and principles during the referendum? He's exactly the same as all the rest, will swing and sway to get in power regardless of principles.

A weak government with a weak leader, kept in power through a grubby deal with the DUP, incapable of agreeing amongst themselves over Brexit, bereft of ideas/policies, destroying our public services whilst enriching their mates. It's a sickening sight. Time for a General election. Shall we look at this another way Tories got more votes than they did in the last election, Labour told some right woppers to get the student and parent vote, and deals were done with other parties so that labour had a better chance in some areas, even after these lies they still did not get the public to trust them. Now Jezza has decided that we will stay half way in the EU [the worst of all deals], most of his votes come from brexit areas, can you see those areas putting up with that? In the last election Derbyshire NE i think went from labour to Tory because Engles was so anti brexit, and the voters were pro brexit. My Daughter is a labour Councillor and fancies being an MP but because she is anti Corbyn she will never be selected a Corbynite will be imposed and with luck might not get in! Brexit is difficult for Labour isn't it, as the party in opposition it is expected to hold the government to account but at the same time respect the result of the referendum. The party is a broad church and like the conservatives includes both remainers and brexiteers. I'd like to see us return to something like the position we thought we were voting for in 1974 i.e. membership of the 'common market'. The European Free Trade Area (EFTA) seems to serve it's members well and I would have thought this would be acceptable to a lot of voters on both sides of the argument. As the party is committed to having 50% of seats with candidates selected from all women shortlists at the next general election, your daughter might have a better chance to be an MP than me, I wish her well. I've recently declined the opportunity to stand in the local council elections in May 2019 because I don't want to commit to 4 years of local politics at my age. I live in a safe, long held, Conservative constituency and if selected I would have to overturn a 27,000 to 17,000 majority to win the seat for Labour.

Regarding politicians and their lies I note that Philip Hammond will this afternoon promise that the next generation will be 'better off than us and that their children will be better off again than them.' Really?

I agree with every thing you say shock horror, the common market was a great idea, but it didnt need anything but a dept from each country to do, it no headquarters nothing just people talking by phone or now on puters. I do believe that if it was put forward the EU would disappear overnight as those huge running costs would be gone. As for Amy, she and I are friends with Sarah Champion MP for Rotherham, this was a good thing but now Sarah is no friend of Corbyn so who knows what the next election holds for her and Amy. I would love to see her stand as I believe she has the passion for the job but dont know how she would cope with the whips!!

This is how real life politics ought to work isn't it....agree a mutually acceptable position with your opponent(s) and move on, Bill Clinton called it 'triangulation'. Far too much point scoring and too many entrenched positions in current politics IMO. For the record I thought Sarah Champion was very badly treated, she seems a very capable lady, I hope she gets another chance.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-41533625Embattled low-cost airline Ryanair said its chief operations officer will depart the company at the end of the month. Michael Hickey will be the first executive to leave the company after a rostering error led to the cancellation of thousands of flights.
