Naburn at the moment but in view of the tide times at the moment may go up to Marygate in York for a couple of days as I have been a rather long time on the pontoon here. PM sent

Sabina has a lock out booked for the morning of 6th Nov through Naburn Lock which means we should be entering Ocean Lock Goole sometime around breakfast time on the 7th. The intention is to moor at the visitor moorings next to the Waterways museum for at least a couple of days

That's by the museum and boatyard on the right. The little patch of green on the right is where we were parked for 4 night in July. And the blue boat on the left must be Exol Pride. Yes that'll be Exol Pride, a regular as you probably know. The grassy bank further up beyond the diesel point is the 14 day visitor Moorings, pins required. No signs posted, but it is. Did you know about the public footpath through Goole Docks and which crosses over the Ocean Lock gates? Interesting at high tide times watching the ships and Barges coming in. Did you also know that you can book a trip on barge Sobriety and do a trip down the Humber, or up to York ? It is also possible to charter Sobriety with skipper and have a tailor made excursion ? I should be in the Goole tourist information office.

Did you know about the public footpath through Goole Docks and which crosses over the Ocean Lock gates? Another boater told us about it so we explored and found it - it takes you past the oldest building in Goole, the Lowther Hotel. The second time we tried it there was a sign 'Footpath Closed' and another man who had wanted to walk through was telling that Associated British Ports are often doing that, and is it legal for them to close a public footpath when they feel like it? I guess one could ask a rambling society, or at Goole Town Hall, but I shall leave that for someone else to take up I think ramblers try to keep footpaths open...near me there is one that has all these warning notices about CCTV ...I'm bit intimidated by the appearance that i will not go down there and another one has rather a lot of wire on the wooden access fence so I cannot use that either....there are some rather inaccessible paths.
