I've been looking at the forecast (heavy snow tonight and tomorrow) including the sub zero temperatures, and wondering how Paneke's coping. This of course provoked thoughts about how our liveaboard members (Jenlyn, Betty, Bassplayer, Stabby, Loafer, to name a few) are getting on now that the shortest and toughest winter days are kicking in. Hope you've all found good and safe moorings for christmas. We'll be back on board before the months end, and whilst looking forward to it, I hope the weather has eased a bit to give us a few days grace to get the boat back up to a residential temperature. We get a bit soft living in the house for three months. Be careful out there, and have a great christmas. Rog I hate frickin snow. Fire on full. Netflix and del boy in Miami on telly. Hot rum coffee in a minute.

More pics of snow from the Dimwit Mail. Don't any of you have tyres that can cope with snow? I don't have snow tyres. I have snow curtains.

We British take pride in our ineptitude in snowy conditions. We celebrate it every year. I have all weather tyres and rear wheel drive. The only time I was nearly stuck was because some plonka stopped at a clear junction on a sheet of ice and almost blocked the road.
I try to avoid driving while it's actually snowing though, ye can see bugger all except a fair approximation to the view from starship enterprise at warp factor 10.

Thank you d9 and Mr stabby.
Very very very jealous, I love the snow.
In Scotland I used to beat the snowplough out every morning just so I could practise driving on snow.

I have 2 snowmen in my garden. Said one to the other:
"Can you smell carrots?"

I've been at a loose end today. How I would have liked to gaily cavort in the snow, perhaps building a snowman, but I've had to content myself with sitting in front of the stove drinking Brandy and scoffing mince pies. It's a hard life full of bitter disappointment.

Bloody hell. I've never seen so many boats on that mooring after the bridge. Is it a winter mooring or summat? I thought that stretch was private mooring.

We had a good spead of snow finally on the arm, enough for the sprogs to build their snowman family. Both schools informed us at 8pm that they are closed tomorrow as its too dangerous....pathetic. I've just arrived at work in central london a journey of 20 miles. All the roads around the schools were clear and the forecast for tomorrow is rain!
If I was to take the little darlings out of school for a holiday i'd be for the high jump but these tossers can shut the doors for 1 inch of snow. I hate hate hate the lilly livered mentality of it. You can bet the little darlings will all be out and about in the fields tomorrow trying to build snowsludgemen. but its too dangerous to get to a nice warm class room

My daughter yearns for a 'snow day'...however down here in S.Wales it very rarely happens... UK always grinds to a halt when the white stuff blankets land....we are just not geared up for it. Maybe teachers 'wanna build a snowman'
