How much do you get for a plastic bottle? 0.40 Euros for the big 'uns, 0.20 for the tiddlers, 0.15 for the normal sized cans.

That's quite impressive. How much is a plastic bottle of water ? Say a 1.5 litre bottle and what size does that come under on the machine.

What do these bottle machines do? They do it in germany as well, I think the deposit should be 2 quid to make sure it happens anything less and they will just get dumped

Surely that would just put up the cost of convenience products and the large corporations that get profit would stop it in its tracks.

Make the deposit such that people will definitely return the bottles. Many people in Finland just throw cans and bottles out of their car windows, they obviously have too much money - even the kids on my bus leave their bottles! Us drivers gather them and chuck them in a big cardboard box which Muggins 'ere carts off every 2 months to our S-Market shop here in Himanka (I can park the bus outside on the way home for breakfast) and I divide the spoils into three.

Surely that would just put up the cost of convenience products and the large corporations that get profit would stop it in its tracks. We had these machines at the festivals. We added a small deposit to the sale price and they got it back when popping it in the machine. Some people had vouchers for considerable amounts, they could also donate the 5p to charity. It didn't really work at reading as the youngsters could not be bothered to recycle.

. It didn't really work at reading as the youngsters could not be bothered to recycle. That's quite upsetting. Not only the mention of Reading which is an awful hell hole but also the comment about youngsters not being interested. I've often wondered if the best thing to do is to just blatantly litter everywhere to get the message through. Throw your rubbish in the streets. Where there's muck there's brass people are making vast fortunes out of the waste products of packaging specially food. Yes the food lasts longer so it must be good ?. They can only do this while the problem is hidden. That's why people are encouraged not to burn plastic waste and to recycle it. It's a scam. If everyone just piled up all their bin waste in the streets randomly something would have to be done about it.

I saw a headline in the Daily Mail Sets Jim Awail this morning but didn't read it. Will this concern boating coal? What if your boat is your house? Does that turn it into 'house coal'? Boaters can still cut down trees and burn them!
