With one cylinder and 10hp Yes I would think most boats can manage 4 or 5 mph through very deep water, add 3 or 4 mph of current... It's great fun ........providing you don't want to stop

Got it running a while back. Keep up lad. ? Not as far as I've read from Page 1 to the present. At which point did the engine start running? parallel universe innit?

There were penguins at the north pole and they used to fly south like lots of birds every year. But they were often eaten by the polar bears. So one year they stayed south. Then the seals told them that the polar bears were now eating seals so they forgot how to fly and stayed on the South Pole.
Sorry, but its just as daft as some inebriated bint "forgetting" how to start her own engine.
Wearing coat, getting hat and gloves...............

I've seen Robbie Cummings' trip report of going up from Selby to the first lock - he seemed rather concerned. It didn't really interest us. MJG mentioned it and I did look into going to Ripon, but we decided it wasn't our thing as the Ouse is boring anyway with high banks and nothing to see. Is 'socks' planning to go out of Goole and turn left? She could simply go straight on, turn left at Spurn Head, and head for the North Pole where she could 'self-isolate'. I expect she will just end up moaning about the polar bears and penguins. socks' new neighbours No penguins at the North Pole... ... And there wouldn't be any at the south Pole if polar bears lived there too.

The north and south poles don't exist. It's a marketing scam.
Same as the dinosaurs.

A bit like a downwind quick-stop in a helicopter, which is great fun.

I think I'll stick with the rounding up. Quite like a spot of rounding up actually when boating. It settles the nerves.
The Heli lark looks far from enjoyable to me but it takes all sorts.

It’s very satisfying as you dump the collective at the start of the manoeuvre (you can hear the blade slap in the video when this happens) and do the 180 turn virtually in autorotation, keeping height by washing off speed. Requires a fair bit of coordination so it’s a great training exercise.

I've never found being more than a few feet above ground at all satisfying. unless there is water between me and the ground obviously. Have been in light aircraft and helicopter and commercial planes years ago all because of other people. Not my thing at all. This includes the high jump training at school. The "Crosby flop" is what they used to call my version of trying to get over the bar.
I refused the MI6 aerial drop ops for this very reason despite the fact the money was seriously good.

The north and south poles don't exist. partly true. when Top Gear went to the North Pole they found it was somewhere else. all to do with magnetism apparently - so I reckon you must have had a hand in it.
whaddothey call you in the office? 00x ? (as in The X Files)

When I do visit the office it's usually full of ladies and they just call me "honey".
Not quite sure why this is but I think it's meant to be a positive comment.

No SBS covert night injection into water then for you? Surname Crosby or are you from the posh side of the 'pool.

Its migrating anyway, not where it was last year. Pigeons being confused. Its reckoned it will flip before too long. It will be odd referring to the South Magnetic Pole.
